furl tag-strings fubar caching import multiple word bug

My multi-word tags from Furl have all imported as separate words. This is not useful. Will this be fixed if I wait patiently?

Also, I understand that it may take you a while to transfer cached pages from Furl, but what about articles newly bookmarked at Diigo? Those don't appear to be cached either.

Yes, some of it is the same..

Plus it sounds also like the topics > lists situation described here:
    http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/important-furl-transition-update-42800

This is also a problem for me, but I was waiting to hear if the tag issue was fixed before I tried reimporting and adding to the overload here. I was a Furl user for years and I have a large archive.

Also, page caching was the main reason I used Furl, so I'm extremely anxious about what will happen with cached pages. If my Furl cache cannot be recovered and new pages cannot be cached, I don't have much interest in Diigo. I have other options for bookmarking and I don't care about the social part.

I tried exporting my Furl archive to a zip file and was not successful. The whole archive did not export and as the files are merely numbered, it's not very useable.

It would be most helpful to have an update on these issues, and I also hope that ex-Furlers will be given a long period of notice before access to our archives there are not useable.

Please note the answer to the recent question

I'm a lapsed user of Furl, I still have an account but can not recall the routine.

Did that Furl service work acceptably in the past?

Was there, is there still, a Furl equivalent of this forum for users of Furl?

Have you tried the other formats provided by Furl's
    http://www.furl.net/tools/export ?

I can not comment on that but you still have

Similarly, I gained 1,877 items in Furl before I made my 1986 move to Diigo.

That's a very sensible approach :) … less in terms of overload, more in terms of having a good set of data and metadata. Minimal duplication, etc.. Along with others, I'm watch this forum closely at the moment for such things and I have to say, it's looking very good.

    > It would be most helpful to have an update on these issues

I imagine that each issue will be addressed separately. Wherever possible I am, occasionally, highlighting key points in topics so (a general hint) whilst reading this forum:

    * present Diigolet to reveal highlights†

    or

    * keep your Diigo sidebar open, and tuned to annotations.

In any case: my strong sense is that sooner or later you should be able to regain, or re-create your multiple-word tags.

You'll find this topic amongst the (suggested) priorities at http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/tag/priority

Thanking all Furl and Diigo users for their patience at this time,

    Kind regards
    Graham

† Accelerated Diigolet, using keyboard shortcuts, is covered in two or more topics. If you can't find the topics, nudge me for a pointer.

Spot the deliberate mistake ;) and add twenty years.

I can't answer for L Azsmith, so here is my experience.

Yes! it worked for a couple of years. Then I started to find the export timing out, and I have not been able to get a zip or xml backup for several months. My mails to Furl support on this issue have gone unanswered. Is a Diigo person now answering Furl support mail? Now that Diigo owns Furl, I hope one of their experts can figure out the export glitches before they switch Furl off.

    > Was there, is there still, a Furl equivalent of this forum for users of Furl?

Do you mean this "Diigo HQ" forum? No, not that I was ever aware of.

Of the 3 general purpose export methods, only browser bookmarks works for me at the moment. Unfortunately that format does not contain my highlights or my cached pages. I patiently await a response from support before experimenting with the citation formats.

    Multi word topics in Furl

I have many multiword topics in Furl. Two examples are:So, I too am waiting for an update on this before I add to the overload: Graham, thank you for tagging it as "priority".

Comments at http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/not-all-topics-labels-imported-from-furl-43326#10 should be of interest.

Thanks for the other information, and again thanks for your patience.
