    Where: Sydney Cricket Ground

When: Saturday July 12, 10.40am (BST)

Sydney went to the top of the AFL ladder after its 28-point win over the Eagles last week and a victory over the Blues at the SCG will go a long way in ensuring a home final.

The Swans will again be without star forward Kurt Tippett as he is yet to overcome a bone inflammation in his knee, but its forward line of Lance Franklin, Adam Goodes and Ben McGlynn still should have far too much firepower for the Blues to handle.

Although Carlton destroyed the Saints last week, it's extremely difficult to see Mick Malthouse's side beating the high-flying Swans on their own patch - especially as the Blues are out of finals contention.

    Sydney should win this comfortably.

    Match facts:

    1. The Swans have a commanding record over Carlton, winning 17 of their past 20 matches against the Blues, dating back to 2001.

    2. Despite the Swans' recent dominance, the overall record still heavily favours the Blues 127-87, with six draws.

    3. One more victory will be the Swans' 12th in a row, equalling a club record set three times, most recently in 1935. In their 11 wins, they are averaging exactly 100 points and holding the opposition to 61.

    4. Carlton is the AFL's lowest handballing team, averaging 140.4 per game. The Swans are third with 171.

    5. The Swans boast two of the competition's strongest ball winners. Nick Malceski is ranked 1st for total kicks (263), while Josh Kennedy is second to Gary Ablett in total disposals (443).

    6. Quiet against Collingwood, Blues skipper Marc Murphy was back to his best against St Kilda. His 27 touches at almost 93 per cent efficiency lifted him 10 places in the Official AFL Player Ratings to No.28.
