The Canterbury Bulldogs will be looking to make it three wins in a row against the Melbourne Storm when the two sides clash in Round 18 action on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs have steadied the ship on their top two aspirations in the last couple of weeks with solid wins over the Raiders and fellow high-flyers Manly, while the Storm have had a mixed last month of football, going down in three of their past five encounters.

The match will be played at AAMI Park in Melbourne, with kick off scheduled for 7.30pm AEST. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports in Australia, with live streaming coverage also available online.

This matchup between the Bulldogs and Storm will remarkably be the fourth time in the last five years that they have met during Round 18 of the competition.

Canterbury will be confident of coming away with the two points in this encounter, with the side being the only club in the NRL to boast a winning head-to-head record against Melbourne throughout their history.

They will also be buoyed by their past two contests against the Storm, with the Bulldogs scoring a combined 79 points in their previous two fixtures against Melbourne with the loss of only 12 points.

However things could turn out different in this game as the Storm were without their star trio of Cameron Smith, Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk in the 39-0 drubbing last year, while Smith was also missing from the Dogs 40-12 victory in Round 4 this season.

This time it will be the Bulldogs who will be missing one of their key players, with Josh Reynolds suspended for the next three matches because of a shoulder charge on Will Chambers in Origin III on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs however performed brilliantly without him last week in their victory over the Sea Eagles, with the hulking Tony Williams and versatile Josh Jackson filling in superbly in makeshift playmaking roles.

One of Williams or Jackson can be expected to slot in for Reynolds this week as the Bulldogs look to keep pace with the Panthers and Sea Eagles at the top of the ladder.

Melbourne meanwhile are one of seven teams holding a share of 20 competition points heading into the beginning of Round 18, and they will be keen to register a win at home in this game in order to break away from the pack.

The Storm are in an extremely unfamiliar position on the ladder to what they normally are come the post-Origin period, with the club clinging onto eighth position on the table.

As a result, the side will be hoping to draw on all that premiership winning experience from years gone by so they can begin their climb to the upper echelons of the competition in the coming weeks.

    Team News

Bryan Norrie returns to the starting side for Melbourne, with Jordan McLean dropping back to an extended six-man bench that also includes Tim Glasby and Joel Romelo.

The Bulldogs have yet to name a replacement for Reynolds at five-eighth, with his fellow NSW representatives Trent Hodkinson and Josh Morris being named to start.

Krisnan Inu shifts to the wing, with Williams and Jackson both being selected in the second row. Reni Maitua reverts back to seven-man bench that also includes Damien Cook, Drury Low and Pat O'Hanlon.
