Maybe it should be clearer to users that deleting a bookmark does not delete the public comments.

It's useful to allow comments without bookmarks, in the network area, but if I bookmark before adding a comment then I expect the comment to disappear at the same time as its 'foundation'.
At http://www.diigo.com/bookmark/http%3A%2F%2Fidenti.ca%2Fconversation%2F13911?tab=comment&uname=grahamperrin if you stop loading before the redirect occurs (not the best example), you'll see an orphaned comment.
These orphans also appear in networks.
