    Noted whilst drafting http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/diigolet-view-of-an-in-comment-url-does-not-hyperlink-the-url-7164

    1. Groups > Diigo Community > Forum > New Topic

    2. complete the Subject: field

    3. draft but do not complete the main Text: area

    4. type in the Tags: field

    5. respond to the menu of suggested tags; curse up/down until a match is found

    6. key return

    = Expected =

    Enter/return whilst highlighting an item in the menu of suggestions for tags should

    a) select that tag, enter it in the Tags: field

    b) leave the cursor in the Tags: field, typically one white space to the right of the previously entered tag.

    = Bug =

    The keystroke relating to a tag is (maybe) misinterpreted as a click on the Submit button.

    = Effect =

    An incomplete topic is posted.

    = Environment =

    * Safari 3.1.2 (5525.20.1)
    * Mac OS X 10.5.5

    = Thought =

    Might this occur when the selection - from the menu of tags - is visually laid over the main Text: area?

    http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/dashboard-clutter-8664 is another example of this bug causing untimely addition/submission of a topic/message.

    http://groups.diigo.com/Diigo_HQ/forum/topic/8993 is another example of this bug causing untimely addition/submission of a topic/message. In this case:

    * selection of an offered tag resulted in something other than the selected tag (the tag posted is incomplete)

    * the post was submitted before the composition was completed.

    A slight refinement, using as a benchmark Diigolet 3.1b538 in Safari 4 on Mac OS X:

    * if the selected tag produces the first entry in the Tags field, then the cursor rests at the tail of the tag, without white space

    * if a tag and white space exist in the Tags field, before typing of an additional tag and selection from the menu, then the cursor rests at the end of an additional white space.

    Cross reference
    Post to Diigo: select tag from menu: return: fails to insert selection, tags are lost
    — symptoms are similar; a fix for one may fix the other.

    Thanks!
