By Jonathan Noah and Ed Payne, CNN updated 5:00 PM EDT, Tue August 21, 2012 (CNN) -- A 20-year-old woman whose aunt allegedly beat her and held her captive for a decade in the basement of a Philadelphia apartment building has sued the city, claiming her ordeal could have been avoided if officials had acted appropriately.

I think the women is right to sue. They didn't fully check the Aunts records to know she was a convicted felon and if they had then the women wouldn't have went through this. They should have taken their time and done their jobs right.

I Think its good that she suing, but why is she suing the city she should be suing the women to held her captive for 10 years.

London (CNN) -- British police have arrested a couple on suspicion of holding three "extremely traumatized" women captive for more than 30 years, Scotland Yard announced Thursday. One of the women -- a 30-year-old Briton -- "appears to have been in servitude for her entire life," Metropolitan Police Detective Inspector Kevin Hyland said.

That's crazy that in this day and age people were held for thirty years as slaves. It's amazing how nobody noticed or said anything.

It's a sad day when parents keep their kids in like that. Crazy how your own parents can be holding you captive.

The US is deeply concerned about the fact that North Korea is holding US citizens captive.

This is ridiculous. The past is the past, let him go already.

Crazy, I believe i heard of this

As police and the FBI try to piece together how the three women and a 6-year-old girl, who police believe is the daughter of one of the women, remained captive in a house for more than a decade in a densely populated section of Cleveland, the women were released Tuesday from a local hospital and returned to their families.

Life in the Fast Lane      Their story has everything a Hollywood director could hope for: A sexy, scantily clad young woman as the alleged leader; two younger brothers, both blond and wild-eyed, following in her brazen footsteps; high-speed car chases; lots and lots of guns and, to top it off, a masked bank robbery.

hmm thats crazy but this would make a great action movie though

Crazy story. They all definitely deserve a severe punishment.

For three years, Ima Matul was held captive and forced to work as a domestic slave, right here in the United States.
