As I sat in the audience at Google's I|O conference yesterday morning, I watched Google VP of Engineering Vic Gundotra and others unveil Android 2.2 "Froyo," an ambitious upgrade to the company's mobile OS. Gundotra began the keynote by framing Android as a moral crusade against "a future where one man, one company, one device, one carrier would be our only choice."

Yesterday, MLB Advanced Media, through MLB.com, released "World Series 2009″, a game designed for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch. In what is believed to be a first for a sports league, the game was developed in-house. The application is available on iTunes for a one-time cost of $7.99.

From the Apple site, you can purchase the iPhone sessions, Mac sessions or both as a bundle.

Apple and Boxee have both brought remote control capabilities to the iPhone for their respective media centre applications, but LogMeIn has gone one step further with Ignition for iPhone. It provides basic remote access for Macs and PCs via the iPhone. It has some big limitations, but it is a functional desktop monitoring solution for when you're on the go.
