This is a nice overview of the Harlem Renaissance. It gives some background information and mentions several of the more famous contributors.

He didnt self pity himself when ever he made a mistake because he knew god made him with imperfections like everyone else.

I chose this poem because it has language that is very confusing, but makes me want to read more. He doesnt sound like he is from harlem with the language he uses.

I like this poem becuase it has humor and some liveliness in the rhyming but it also has some seriousness in the fact that thye story is about a woman with no one to love.

I like this poem because it talks about how deary and nostalgic the mornings in New york can be compared to its night life.

I really liike this poem becase it describes the peace of New York before the sun rises. The details are very vivid and paint a clear picture dawn in New York.

This poem uses very vivid words and makes it a very powerful poem. I also like its use of its rhymes and how it all connects at the end with December.

I chose this because it states the cruelty of people in Harlem were and how weary the blacks were during this time of racial abuse and misery

I like this poem because he talks about how the African American race is fallen.

I like this poem because it describes what kind of segregation was between black and whites and he was writing about the differences in freedom they had.

This Poem talks how birds of prey are gruesome and dont have remorse, they stop the singing birds and are a nusense to people. Reminds me of seagulls which is why I like it.

I like this poem because it talks about how he isn't really free, and how he wants America to be accepting of all people.

I chose this because it shows what it was like for him to have a white dad and a black mom and him being born somewhat in the middle so he was still vulnerable to racism towards blacks.

I like this poem because it shows that people arwe free to imagine, but that it is not just a fantasy, that those things can happen in real life. Everything starts with a thought and that's why this poem is so moving.
