Prezi - Ideas matter. - 0 views

Prezi is a cloud based presentation software that opens up a new world between whiteboards and slides. The zoomable canvas makes it fun to explore ideas and the connections between them. The result: visually captivating presentations that lead your audience down a path of discovery. I have been using prezi for the past 3 years and with each update there is a shorter learning curve. More creative than power point presentations. MOT students who are more "right" brained and more global than linear in their thinking and learning seem to embrace the prezi format.

DoppelMe - Create Your Avatar - 0 views

The website allows students to create an avatar that represents their personality by choosing hair style/color, skin color, clothing and accessories. The site is a fun and unique way to ask students to introduce themselves. I noticed that one student in this class used an avatar for her profile picture. I just went on the site, set up an account and created an avatar. We used these in Jenny Fogo's class and then wrote a description of ourselves which we posted as our introduction!

Merlot Collection made up of 40,000 materials in 19 different material type categories. Materials are submitted by members of MERLOT community. Membership is free. I just signed up as adjunct faculty member and this appears to be an excellent resource for online teaching and learning. I recall being exposed to it in Julie Gahimer's course on Instructional Design & Delivery, but have neglected to use it.
bubbl.us | brainstorm and mind map online - 1 views

Brainstorm online with bubbl.us. Easily create colorful mind maps to print or share with others. Almost no learning curve. Businesses, universities, and other schools are using bubbl.us worldwide to generate ideas, map out processes and create presentations. I have used this site with my MOT students at UIndy when they return from analyzing workers at Costco. We consolidate their responses on this site, i.e., we use a different bubble to represent each dept. at Costco, i.e., Membership, Scanning, Tire Center, Bakery and Meat Dept. I imagine that it would be extremely effective for any "brainstorming" session that you might want to complete as an online exercise. I'm wondering whether it can be used in conjunction with Adobe Connect?
