I have focused on a variety of writings this summer to keep abreast of what is happening in the world of education. I have followed the conversation about reform and NCLB and it is all part of a greater question forming in my mind about what education should really be. What do you think and where would you stand? I'd like to know what academic requirements the students had to fullfill during the Hot Rod building experience to see if any of it can be incorporated into what we already do.

"What does this mean? When will I use this?" If you're a math teacher, you've probably heard these questions before. We're here to help you answer them. "What Do Educational Innovators Really Do? Here's Twelve Examples"

iPad app to give students quizzes that are sent directly to and taken on the student's iPad.  Great for iPad integration for schools. Also has the ability to display exactly what you want the students to see, and not have to worry about what else they possibly be doing on the iPad.

Images and pictures are great visual aides in teachning. We all include them in our lesson planning for illustration and more elucidation purposes especially when it comes to explaining hard concepts. It's awesome to add your personal touch to images you use like adding a text, a caption, chaging colour, ect. It makes you control what you want share and this is why I compiled a list of some great photo editing tools that teachers can use very easily and in most of the times without any registration

It is not just for high school any more. This is a product that is widely used in our community and the kids need to be aware of what is happening in other arenas.

Photo of Billy Collins Welcome to Poetry 180. Poetry can and should be an important part of our daily lives. Poems can inspire and make us think about what it means to be a member of the human race. By just spending a few minutes reading a poem each day, new worlds can be revealed. Poetry 180 is designed to make it easy for students to hear or read a poem on each of the 180 days of the school year. I have selected the poems you will find here with high school students in mind. They are intended to be listened to, and I suggest that all members of the school community be included as readers. A great time for the readings would be following the end of daily announcements over the public address system.
