Debatepedia is "the Wikipedia of pros and cons". Its mission is to "clarify public debates and improve decision-making globally". Debatepedia is a project of the International Debate Education Association (IDEA), a 501c3 non-profit. It utilizes the same wiki technology powering Wikipedia to engage you and other citizen-editors in clarifying public debates by centralizing them into a single pro/con encyclopedia. This helps you, other citizens, and leaders better weigh ALL the pros and cons, develop positions, and make more informed decisions, votes, etc... And this significantly improves democracy and people's lives.

You might find something of interest to you here! When I first set out to create this site, I wanted it, above anything else, to be something practical. I wanted it to be something real teachers could use. I want to offer support to new teachers who were hired the day before school started, and were talked into taking two extra preps, and have gang problems inside their classrooms. And I want it to be a place where you could find like-minded colleagues who are dedicated to improving our society through education, as hard as the reality of that may be for those of us in the classroom.

Good article. I liked the comment! To make positive change, there is a formula that can work. 1. The center of curriculum revolves around the Common Core State Standards. 2. Common formative assessments are developed and analyzed measuring the students' abilities of the standards. 3. An engaging and relevant content curriculum that matches the skills we are teaching our children. 4. Use proven research-based instruction in the classroom. It sounds easy, but we tend to focus too much on content and testing as opposed to skill development.
