My journey with Alcohol started when I turned 21. I sort of knew that I was an alcoholic before I ever took that first drink of alcohol. I wouldn't know until years, that my premonition about alcoholism was true. I had to learn the hard way; that drinking alcohol, wasn't for me. Unfortunately, I wasn't born with a manual that said," do not drink alcohol." I learned as a child that alcohol was fun. People drank alcohol to relax and have a good time. <!-- wysiwyg -->

The benefits of setting and achieving goals aren't always obvious. You may be thinking that it's a lot of work to set and achieve goals.

Addiction is something that ruins lives. I have an addiction personality. Addiction to alcohol ruined my life for a while. I was on a downward spiral for a few years and didn't even know it. I was taking everything to the extreme.

Drinking alcohol in excess can cause a person to blackout. A blackout is a period of time when you are still conscious and are an active participant of life; you may act differently in this period than you normally do because you're under the influence of alcohol.

For us sober alcoholics, the holiday season can be a trying time of year. Our goal is, to always stay sober. It seems that the holiday season brings out the temptation to drink alcohol, everywhere.

My experience told me that I had nothing to say. My strength said, wait a minute; and, my hope was trying to push me forward to become a leader. To have my voice heard by as many people as I could get my message out to.

Alcohol is a product that our society associates with having fun and good times. We're programmed to think that alcohol can solve all our problems. Commercials on television give us the impression that things will get better if we just have a few drinks of alcohol and relax.

We all procrastinate in one form or another. Either we put things off or say that we'll do them later. If we adopt the attitude of do it now, it can make a tremendous difference in our lives. Sometimes fear stops us, sometimes guilt stops us, sometimes it's just plain laziness that stops us; but, no matter what we blame on the fact that we're not doing it now, the fact is that we're still not doing it now. So, if you are interested in overcoming procrastination; keep reading and start living in the NOW.
