This is a website about how climate effects society.  It talks about how the climate has changed and how you can help.  It also has great links to other sites for example, poverty and food scaracity. 

This is a really cool website that represents everyone from far left to far right.  It is a website where the writing is like you are talking with a friend.  This talks about global warming in a totally easy understanding way that keeps you engaged.  It provides great information pertaining to what global warming is and solutions.

Short video on how technology will affect/improve the potential of microfinance. He talks about how they tried a village computing center, but also how they (Grameen Bank) are working on using mobile phones that will allow borrowers to access bank accounts, and connect to customers to improve business transactions, and many other things.

This site explores some social and historical causes of poverty, as well as other issues, in a number of countries including the US. It also has testimonies of those who have struggled with poverty and different organizations and ways to get involved to help the cause of the people around the world.

Debate on microcredit and its effectiveness as a solution to poverty. One of the ladies says that microcredit is only a solution in some contexts, and that it others contexts it can actually create problems, where it can create a new kind of debt trap.

This article looks at two approaches to poverty removal. The first being focused on poverty as an income concept and thus removing poverty would be done through raising incomes, and the second looks at poverty as vulnerabiltiy to economic and social problems and thus focuses on social programs of education and health provision. SEWA, the Self Employed Women's Association, then goes on to give thier approach to poverty removal which is a combination of the two approaches.

A cause being that which gave rise to poverty in its origin, and a factor being something that contributes to its continuation. The five factors that this site focuses on are ignorance, disease, apathy, dishonesty, and dependency.

Video about Dr. Muhammad Yunus who started the Grameen Bank in India. Video talks about the methods used by Yunus and his bank in Bangledesh, and in other parts of the world.  It also looks at how he started this idea and the struggles he had when he originally talked with other banks to get them to provide loans to the poor.

Interesting video that looks at NGO's and how they have in treated the African people that they support with their own programs that they think will benefit the people and not what the people themselves believe that they need. Also it says that one NGO in Ghana asked a girl to cry for a video they were making, in order to help raise more money, but that money did not even go to that girl/her people.

This organization works to fight against poverty by providing health care and development to those communities and families that can't afford it. Interestingly, on its mission statement page, one of its operating principles listed is Accountability, which is what Easterly said was one of the things that seperated planners and searchers.
