NEXGEN HOTELS HAS acquired the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chicago Bolingbrook in Chicago. The company, led by Chris Patel as principal, plans to fully renovate the hotel. The 82-suite hotel is in Bolingbrook a suburb of Chicago, near Chicagoland Speedway, Harrah's Casino, The Promenade at Bolingbrook, Pelican Harbor Indoor/Outdoor Aquatic Park, downtown Chicago and other shopping, dining and entertainment businesses. Renovation work on the hotel will begin in December. The hotel's amenities include an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. "When renovations are completed, we expect the hotel to appeal to travelers coming to the Chicago area seeking a well-known brand with modern amenities," Patel said.

NEWBOND HOLDINGS HAS acquired Aloft Tampa Downtown in Tampa, Florida, marking its third downtown riverfront hotel investment in the city in 24 months. This takes the company's total to more than 700 hotel rooms and more than 800 ft. of frontage along the Hillsborough River, Newbond said in a statement. Niel Luthra is the founding partner of New York-based Newbond Holdings. The 130-key hotel, located on the Riverwalk, provides both indoor and outdoor amenities, featuring a waterfront pool, gym, corporate meeting and event spaces, as well as a bar and lounge, the statement added. Newbond is planning a comprehensive hotel renovation to include all guestrooms, public areas and the pool deck. "Our third hotel investment in downtown Tampa since 2021 demonstrates our conviction in the long-term Tampa growth story," said Neil Luthra, founding partner of Newbond. "Tampa's robust job and population growth; flourishing convention and tourism business; and continued institutional investment have created one of the strongest real estate and hospitality markets in the country."

Home2 Suites by Hilton Cookeville in Cookeville, Tennessee, is now open. It is owned by NHK Hotels LLC and operated by Image Hotel Management, both led by Neil Patel as CEO. "On Aug. 14, 1986, Neil Patel, CEO and founder of Image Hotel Management, opened his first hotel, Executive Inn, in Cookeville," said Karen Patel, managing partner of Image Hotel Management. "Thirty-seven years later, we are delighted to open our Home2 Suites here and continue our partnership with Hilton Hotels." The 102-room hotel is near Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Cummins Falls, Burgess Falls, and Fall Creek Falls state parks, Image said in a statement. Hotel amenities include full kitchens, an indoor saline pool and a fitness center. The property includes a "backyard" with outdoor seating, a seasonal fire pit, pet pit stop, putting green, and yard games. The Cumberland Room offers 1,500 square feet of conference space with a spacious pre-function area and catering kitchen.

It is near two major airports, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Love Field, and two major convention centers, the Irving Convention Center and the Gaylord Texan Convention Center. Amenities at the hotel include a fitness center and an outdoor pool. "This extended-stay property is in the heart of a high-traffic corridor that's a popular destination for both corporate and leisure travelers," Patel said. The acquisition of the TownePlace Suites is important to Marriott, said Loren Nalewanski, the company's vice president franchising for the Element, Residence Inn, Fairfield, TownePlace and SpringHill Suites brands. "Our industry is built on strong partnerships between brands and owners," Nalewanski said. "This acquisition enhances the long, valued, and successful partnership between Marriott and NewcrestImage, which has owned and operated 30 Marriott-branded properties since 2013."
