    G6 HOSPITALITY, PARENT of Motel 6 and Studio 6, recently signed with Los Angeles-based S.R.E Enterprises LLC to develop a 295-room Motel 6 near the Las Vegas Strip. The property is expected to open in May. The hotel will be one of the largest properties in the company's history, G6 said in a statement. "This new addition to our portfolio, which is strategically located in one of the world's most visited destinations, is an exciting milestone," said Sonal Sinha, G6 Hospitality's CEO. "We are grateful to our franchise partners and S.R.E Enterprises LLC for their collaboration and trust, and to the G6 team for their support in bringing this project to life."

Survey: Most Americans opt for car travel to summer destinations - 0 views

    NEARLY EIGHT IN 10 Americans plan to travel by car to their summer destination, with the majority citing the enjoyment of driving, according to a recent survey commissioned by G6 Hospitality, parent company of the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands. Most travelers prefer hotel stays, though they acknowledge that cost will influence their travel plans. The study, surveying 2,000 Americans with summer leisure plans, found that 80 percent distinguish between a "trip" and a "vacation". "There's nothing better than cruising on the highway with the windows down, sun shining and music playing, especially when you're surrounded by your loved ones - even those on four legs," said Julie Arrowsmith, G6 Hospitality's president and CEO. "Whether you're the planner or just along for the ride, Motel 6 and Studio 6 provide pet-friendly and affordable lodging so you can relax, enjoy the journey and focus on creating memories."

OYO to buy G6 Hospitality for $525 million - 0 views

    INDIA-BASED ORAVEL Stays, the parent company of the global travel technology company OYO, has agreed to purchase G6 Hospitality, franchiser for the economy Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands, for $525 million from Blackstone Real Estate. The all-cash transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to customary closing conditions. Since launching in the U.S. in 2019, OYO has expanded to operate more than 320 hotels across 35 states, according to a joint statement from the companies. It aims to add around 250 hotels to its network this year, offering a technology suite, global distribution network and marketing expertise. "This acquisition is a significant milestone for a startup company like us to strengthen our international presence," said Gautam Swaroop, CEO of OYO International. "Motel 6's strong brand recognition, financial profile and network in the US, combined with OYO's entrepreneurial spirit will be instrumental in charting a sustainable path forward for the company which will continue to operate as a separate entity."
