    BPR Properties, led by Birju Patel as president, has sold its Home2 Suites by Hilton Savannah Airport in Pooler, Georgia. The deal was brokered by Hunter Hotel Advisors. A large private equity group purchased the hotel to increase its select-service portfolio. "The Home2 Suites Savannah Airport should provide the new owner continued strong performance in the market as the premium Hilton brand will be able to take advantage of its location along Interstate 95, proximate to strong corporate demand and just minutes from the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) and Downtown Savannah." said Mayank Patel, senior vice president for Hunter Hotel Advisors. Peachtree contracts with HOS Management to operate nine hotels - 0 views

    PEACHTREE HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT entered into a long-term contract with Savannah, Georgia-based HOS Management to operate nine hotels. The hotels are primarily in the Southeast and are Marriott, Hilton and IHG branded. PHM will manage hotel operations in compliance with hotel brand standards, scalable operating efficiencies, digital and market initiatives and other cost saving across the portfolio, according to Peachtree. PHM is part of Atlanta-based Peachtree Group, led by Jatin Desai and Mitul Patel as managing principals. AAHOA endorses ethical, beneficial AI in hotels - 0 views

    AS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE continues to permeate society on every level, there is a place for it in the hotel industry, AAHOA said. AI technology can improve operational efficiency and cut costs, the association said, but it must be developed and used ethically. AAHOA referenced two recent research studies, one conducted by the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership at the University of Houston, and another by Morgan Stanley, to endorse the integration of artificial intelligence into hotels for enhanced guests' experience. The University of Houston's study explored AI's transformative impact on the industry and its acceptance among hotel guests. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley's research report released on August 18, titled "AI for Hotels: Will the Hotel of the Future Fit in the Palm of Your Hand?" documented the benefits of hoteliers, online travel agencies and hotel brands adopting AI technology early.

    OFFICIALS OF THE "She Has a Deal" annual hotel investment pitch contest announced the five teams selected to advance to the final round of SHaDPitch 2023. The competition allows early career women to compete for the prize of $50,000 of equity in SHaD's Prosperity Fund I, following the conclusion of a virtual, preliminary round of pitching, SHaD said in a statement. SHaD 2023 will be held at the new Marriott Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland, on April 27 to 28. According to the statement, the goal of SHaD is to increase the number of women owning and developing hotels. It provides participants with the ability to source, analyse, raise capital and close hotel real estate investment deals. During the preliminary judging round, eight teams comprising 15 participants pitched their hotel investment acquisition or development projects live on Zoom to a judging panel of hotel business executives, entrepreneurs, and investors. The judges evaluated and selected the following five teams: Sydney Young and Rachel Nicholson with SpartanStone, graduates of Michigan State University, pitching a La Quinta Inn & Suites in Lewisville, Texas. Chandler Williamson with Chanders Core Commitment, graduate of North Carolina Central University, pitching a Hilton Garden Inn in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina. Vision Hospitality breaks ground on Embassy Suites in Chattanooga, TN - 0 views

    VISION HOSPITALITY GROUP recently broke ground on its Embassy Suites by Hilton in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The seven-story 184-suite Embassy Suites will be developed for $54 million and includes rooftop and street-level bars and a coffee area in an open lobby. The project also includes a leasable restaurant space and 5,000 total square feet of meeting space, Vision said in a statement. Vision said it will bring an economic boost to the destination with more than 100 jobs ranging from senior management positions, guest service agents, housekeepers and others. With a construction timeline of approximately two years led by Humphreys and Associates Contractors, LLC, the hotel is expected to open in the summer of 2025. "We are thrilled to begin construction on this project in our hometown of Chattanooga, just steps from our company headquarters," said Mitch Patel, Vision's president and CEO. "This project is our first Embassy Suites hotel, and we know the brand's value-added services are a perfect fit for this location welcoming both corporate and leisure travelers." Embassy Suites by Hilton, one of Hilton's 19 brands. Amenities will include a fitness center and an evening reception. Embassy Suites by Hilton has more than 260 open hotels, with 42 properties under development. The Embassy Suites Chattanooga is one among 15 projects in Vision's development pipeline expected to open in the next two years. The company's portfolio comprises 16 properties in Greater Chattanooga and 41 nationwide, the statement added.

    IHG HOTELS & RESORTS donated $500,000 to the American Hotel & Lodging Association Foundation's No Room for Trafficking Survivor Fund to combat human trafficking. It is the most recent donation by a large hotel company to the fund. The Survivor Fund works to end human trafficking and support the economic stability of human trafficking survivors with the contribution, a statement added. It supports survivors' immediate needs and long-term stability that will empower and equip survivors and their families to help prevent revictimization, including but not limited to emergency housing and career development support by funding community-based organizations. Since its inception, the fund has raised $2.5 million with contributions from Extended Stay America, G6 Hospitality, Hilton Global Foundation, Hyatt Hotels Foundation and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. "IHG Hotels & Resorts is committed to eradicating human trafficking, and this support of the NRFT Survivor Fund underscores our long-standing effort to condemn this exploitation and help survivors," said Elie Maalouf, IHG's CEO for the Americas.     PEACHTREE GROUP SECURED a $73 million construction loan and C-PACE financing to fund the development of a 263-key dual-brand Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton Hotel in San Diego, California, on behalf of the locally based Baxter Hotel Group. Baxter is set to commence construction on its 16-story, dual-branded hotel this month, with a projected 22-month construction timeline, Peachtree said in a statement. Peachtree facilitated a $50.4-million floating-rate construction loan with a three-year term and secured $22.6 million in fixed-rate C-PACE financing, amortized over 25 years. Collectively, these funds covered 64 percent of the total development cost, the statement said. "We were able to execute an innovative capital stack with the addition of C-PACE in an otherwise challenging financing market, providing ample capital for the construction to begin while saving the sponsor 200 basis points in interest rate spread," said Jared Schlosser, Peachtree's senior vice president, head of hotel origination and C-PACE.

3H Group opens The Hiatus Clearwater Beach, Florida - 0 views

    The Hiatus Clearwater Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton is now open in Florida. 3H Group Inc., led by Hiren Desai as president and CEO, is the owner of the property, while hotel management firm LBA Hospitality will manage the operations of the beachside hotel.     ATLANTA-BASED PEACHTREE Hotel Group recently acquired the Canopy by Hilton Atlanta Midtown hotel in Atlanta. The company's affiliate Peachtree Hospitality Management will operate the property. The 176-room, 15-story Canopy is a lifestyle hotel that opened in 2018 in Midtown Atlanta, according to Peachtree. The area has the largest concentration of arts and cultural attractions and businesses in the Southeast. "Midtown Atlanta is one of the hottest markets in the country right now, and we are excited to be able to make this investment in our backyard," said Brian Waldman, Peachtree's chief investment officer. "The Canopy Atlanta Midtown fits our investment criteria of investing in premium-branded hotels in growing submarkets with strong demand drivers." It is the second acquisition in the city in 12 months for the Denver-based company, started by CEO Navin Dimond. The 410-room, full-service upscale hotel on Poydras Street is near the city's French Quarter, Bourbon Street and Warehouse Arts District. Also nearby are the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Smoothie King Center and the Port of New Orleans Cruise Ship Terminal. Amenities include a rooftop pool, onsite restaurants and more than 13,000 square feet of event space. With the new purchase, Stonebridge's portfolio stands at 63 hotels and more than 10,000 guest rooms, including select-service, extended-stay, mid-scale and full-service hotels in several states. It is the first Le Méridien hotel for the company, Dimond said. "Last year we purchased the Embassy Suites by Hilton New Orleans," Dimond said. "New Orleans is truly a great American city, and the Le Méridien is ideally located for both leisure and business travelers alike visiting downtown New Orleans."

The company's hospitality management team will oversee the seven-story hotel located in the city's employment hub, Peachtree said in a statement. However, the financial terms of the transactions were not disclosed. "We are excited to acquire this premium-branded hotel in a growing submarket with a variety of diverse and stable demand generators," said Michael Bernath, Peachtree's senior vice president for acquisitions. "The Denver economy is well diversified, with the city gaining recognition as a burgeoning tech hub. We believe the expansion of the R-Line, increased connectivity of the area and the completion of the transformative Bellview Station development will continue to make the Denver Tech Center an attractive destination for consumers and corporations alike." Peachtree aims to further invest in the property, which was previously renovated in 2014, the statement said. The hotel is near the under-development Bellview Station, a transit-oriented mixed-use development spanning more than 50 acres. There are companies including Comcast, Oracle, Microsoft, Zoom, Charles Schwab, Fidelity Investments, Newmont Mining, and Western Union in the vicinity.

LE: U.S. hotel construction pipeline rises in all project stages YOY - 0 views

    THE U.S. HOTEL construction pipeline grew 9 percent by both projects and rooms year-over-year, according to the latest U.S. Construction Pipeline Trend Report from Lodging Econometrics. It stood at 5,545 projects with 658,207 rooms at the close of the first quarter of 2023. Meanwhile, the hotel construction pipeline in the top 25 markets in the U.S. also registered year-over-year growth in the first quarter. Dallas had a record 184 projects with 21,810 rooms at the close of the first quarter, followed by Atlanta with 144 projects containing 18,242 rooms, Los Angeles tally stood at 118 projects with 19,066 rooms, Phoenix with 117 projects with 16,100 rooms and Nashville had 115 projects containing 15, 354 rooms, LE report revealed. In another report, LE analysts also detailed the leading franchise companies and their brands in the construction pipeline at the close of the first quarter. Marriott International tops the charts with 1,499 projects containing 181,377 rooms, followed closely by Hilton Worldwide, with a record-high count of 1,436 projects with 161,359 rooms, and then InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) with 809 projects containing 80,679 rooms. Combined, these three franchise companies comprise 68 percent of the projects in the total U.S. pipeline, LE said.

    NEWCRESTIMAGE HAS OPENED its first Canopy by Hilton upscale hotel in north Dallas. The Canopy is part of Frisco Station, a four-brand, 600-room "lifestyle hotel campus" developed by the company. The 150-room, seven-floor Canopy joins the first two hotels, an AC Hotel and Residence Inn dual-brand with 150 rooms each that opened in 2019. The fourth hotel, a 150-room Hyatt Place, currently has no scheduled date for start of construction. "The opening of this Canopy symbolizes the story of hospitality's comeback around the country and around the world," said Mehul Patel, chairman and CEO of NewcrestImage. "Our company's commitment to serve travelers is not a victim of coronavirus, and we have many hygiene procedures in place so guests can feel safe, comfortable, and special." Some of those procedures include disinfecting guest luggage on arrival; using technology to reduce physical interaction between guests and staff during check-in and check-out; and improving the hotel's HVAC system to prevent spread of microbes and virus.
