As many of you know, 2011 is a sabbatical year for us at Adventurous Wench- a year away from running trips in order to pursue other business activities.That's all well and good, but it's hard to stay away! I miss doing trips with other adventurous wenches, so we're going to run one trip this year - a Sedona Red Rocks Getaway trip in September.

I hadn't expected to feel like a movie star. But as our 4x4 manoeuvres past hulking boulders of black volcanic rock as big as cars, I half expect to see Anne Hathaway strolling around the corner in her Interstellar spacesuit, or Bruce Willis drilling away, as he does in Armageddon. The Piatra Craiului Mountains are a mountain range in the Southern Carpathians in Romania. In Romanian Piatra Craiului means Rock of the King. The Piatra Craiului mountains form a narrow and saw-like ridge, which is about 25 km long. The highest elevation in the massif is the Varful La Om with 2238 m.
