Voisse has three core features at its heart - Record, keep and share. 1. Record Voisse allows users to record any audio (or sound) they choose in whatever way they want - on-line using any modern browser, phone by calling a dedicated number or uploading existing recordings. In doing so anyone, from the youngest child to the oldest adult can create recordings (Voisses). 2. Keep The heart of Voisse is a personal store for all your Voisses, called My Voisses. BeholdTM is a search engine for high-quality Flickr images. It aims to answer your queries based on what is inside the images -- at the pixel level. It offers a completely new way to search for images, using techniques of computer vision. It is different to standard image search engines, such as Flickr or Google, because those search through images using only image tags and filenames.

Tools that let you edit photos in the Web browser have come a long way in the last few years. We wanted to take a moment to do a feature comparison with a grouping of editors--big and small, to see what each one is capable of. Most of the services on this list take advantage of Adobe's ever-developing Flash platform, which in its latest iteration got a huge boost with support for the large images coming out of today's high-megapixel cameras. On the flip side of that, several of the non-Flash-based editors use AJAX to make the changes happen without reloading the page. The benefit here is that you can run these on machines without the latest versions of Flash installed. While not an exhaustive list of features, we wanted to focus on some of the ones that really mattered, like how much each service costs to use, how large of a photo you can upload, and what makes each one specia

KidZui, the child-safe browser maker, has put out a Firefox extension that offers all the functionality of its standalone browser right inside of Firefox. Once installed and activated by a parent, it locks the child (or anyone else for that matter) out of accessing non-Kidzui approved sites, or other areas of the computer, by taking up the entire screen. A password, which is chosen by the parent, is the only way to exit the KidZui browsing experience, essentially turning your computer into a kid-friendly Internet kiosk.

With Thursday's news that Google is discontinuing development on its Notebook service, it may leave a few people looking for a viable replacement. The good news is that there are a handful of really solid products that do the same thing, and in some cases--do it better. Here's a list of seven of our favorites, in no particular order

Although there are endless resources to learn languages on the web, it is often difficult to find quality websites that offer structured lesson plans for free. I, however, have scrounged the murky depths of the web to bring you the following, resource-packed sites; may they be the Babelfish for your future forays.

Now you can create your own sign generator! Just find (take your own with a digital camera, maybe a DVD still image grab, search graphics sites, take a pic from TV, etc) an image of a sign or a photo where there is a clearable area to place text. Use GIMP (best freeware photo editor) to clear out the text area (if there is text already in the way) and then import it to this site to manipulate the text with hundreds of fonts, also make sure the image size does not exceed 650 pixels (height or width). You can even use a photograph of yourself (use free hosting so you have a web URL to use) or loved ones and add comic book styled bubbles (sample) where you can change the text characters to suit your needs (captionize your photographs), you can literally turn any image or clipart into a sign generator!
