Top 100 Tools for Learning 2009 As at 23 July 2009 151 Learning Professionals have shared their Top 10 Tools This is the 3rd year we have invited learning professionals from all over the world to share their top 10 tools for learning to help build the annual Top 100 Tools for Learning. Here's the emerging the Top 100 Tools for Learning 2009 list, where you can compare the rankings of the tools with the last two years. Note, by "learning" we mean both formal and informal learning (This list was used to produce the 25 Tools: A Toolbox 2009)

25 Tools : A Toolbox for Learning Professionals 2009 version This is the 2009 version of this popular resource. The 2009 Toolbox contains 25 categories of learning tool. Within each tool category are the names of the most popular tools from the emerging 2009 Top Tools for Learning, as selected by learning professionals worldwide. The majority of tools in the Toolbox are FREE tools, although a number of commercial tools are included. Some of the tools are desktop tools; others are online services.

The annual Horizon Report describes the continuing work of the New Media Consortium (NMC)'s Horizon Project, a long-running qualitative research project that seeks to identify and describe emerging technologies likely to have a large impact on teaching, learning, research, or creative expression within learning-focused organizations. The 2009 Horizon Report is the sixth annual report in the series. The report is produced again in 2009 as a collaboration between the New Media Consortium and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI), an EDUCAUSE program.

Everyone is a learner - whether you are a student in a school, college or university, a workplace learner or a lifelong learner - so share your Top 10 Tools for Learners and help us build the Top 100 Tools for Learners 2009. We are building the Top 100 Tools for Learners 2009 list below. Note this list is constantly being updated as we receive new contribution, and the tools shown below are tools that have achieved two or more votes.

"With the advent of the World Wide Web and the huge amount of information that is contained there, students need to be able to critically evaluate a Web page for authenticity, applicability, authorship, bias, and usability. The ability to critically evaluate information is an important skill in this information age. To help you get started with this process with your students, I have designed a series of evaluation surveys, one each at the elementary, middle, and secondary school levels. The elementary, middle, and secondary surveys have been re-designed and updated in February of 2009. The virtual tour, blog, podcast, and teacher site evaluations have been added since 2005 and updated in 2009."
