Wi-Fi turns rowdy bus into rolling study hall - 0 views

  •
I found this article very interesting. I know when I was in high school there was a lot of goofing around and behavior problems on the bus to and from school. I think that having internet access on the bus would really decrease these problems. Some students spend a lot of wasted time on the bus to and from school and this is a way to make this time productive. Students would be able to work on homework and do research. I also thought that having this option for sports teams to use was great. Imagine being a coach and giving your players access to the internet in between games, or on the long bus trips to the tournament.

  •
One of the wonders of the Internet is that it can bring the world to you instead of your needing to find the time and money to explore the traditional way. The following virtual tours bring opportunities to explore cities, famous landmarks and buildings, museums, college campuses, and even outer space. You can learn how things are made, explore the human body or that of a life-sized whale, and visit ball parks and theme parks. There is even a section of incredible virtual tours that Google Earth has compiled that shares the world in a whole new way.

Most of the media in these collections are attached to generous copyright licensing. Though you may not need to ask permission to use them when publishing on the Web for educational purposes, you should cite or attribute these images to their creators unless otherwise notified! If you see any copyright notices on these pages, read them for further instructions. This is a wikispace. Another cool way that wikis can help keep information organized.

I had a conversation with the bot and it is very intuitive. The dialog was about age, manners and politeness. It was very kool to be able to converse with this automated being and I believe that the very quick and smart responses will engage the kids. Have fun with this one. It is for communications skills. Marge sent this to me.

Find meaning, not just links. Grate for Language Arts. A friend of mine shared this. She said, "This is a great resource for language arts. I tried the word "cognition" and was amazed by the results of the search. Any class would be enhanced with its use."
