The Mexicans must know what they're doing with adobe - they've been using it for thousands of years!

In trying to track down the 'turbo' rocket stove I mentioned (the one with the fan) I came across this: it might be quicker and easier to make, and longer-lastng (especially if we go one step further and mortar the bricks together), than one made from an olive oil tin - and I'm pretty sure we've already got enough adobe mix available.

Seeing this, I'm inspired to argue for a lightweight geodesic structure to go over the earth oven. I reckon we can make one with pallet timber, and cover it with either tarpaulin or timber shingles (or even wattle and daub). This conversation seems to indicate that pine is not the best material. So, let's not spend too much energy making the hull look pretty . . .
