William King on 04 Oct 12The place where one of the busiest cities of the world, Dubai, stands today was once considered to be a useless desert. There was nothing in there but a large piece of barren land with very little population and the highest followed profession was of fishing. It was only during the second half of the previous century that the mineral wealth was begun to be explored in the Arabian peninsula and when the explorations proved to be successful, UAE also was explored and when it was found that there were huge reserves of oil in this region, this suddenly changed the complexion of the United Arab Emirates.
