We need to hold police officers accountable when there are other options than death. 3. I understand that the police officers warned him many times to put the knife down but he was going through a mental health episode. we need a better solution, this has been a problem far too long. Whether it's more training or specialized services, suicide by police cannot be the answer. It's sad to know that people know they will be shot to death by a police officer in a situation like this.
