Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Hotel - 1 views

  •
Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Hotel I booked a vacation from Westhill Consulting Travel and Tours and I can say it was the best vacation ever. They booked me at Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Hotel and I couldn't be more happier with their choice. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first set foot in the hotel, the place was simply stunning. My expectations from a 5-star hotel were all met. I love my stay at the hotel and it made my whole vacation more enjoyable. It was so relaxing that after a long day of exploring the city I look forward on going back to the hotel and pamper myself. The first thing I tried was their sauna and the outdoor pool. Perfect after a long air trip. All the tiredness were all gone. Although I did not try their wellness centre and the fitness centre because I have no time to do so, I did try to visit and check it out. I was so impressed with all the facilities, all were modern and up-to-date. Too bad I didn't get to try an executive floor and a poolside snack bar. But of course I checked them out too, those wouldn't skip my eyes. Not to mention all the staff were very friendly and approachable. I am a self-confessed workaholic and I couldn't afford not to check on my business every once in a while even though I am on vacation. I am very thankful that Pullman Jakarta Indonesia provides Wi-Fi within the hotel, meaning I never had a problem staying connected during my whole stay. Go and Travel to Jakarta - 1 views

Indonesians will make you feel like a star First of all, Indonesians are super hospitable people and they are very friendly towards foreigners. But there aren't as many foreign tourists in Jakarta as you might think. You will get a lot of attention and the locals will genuinely be very keen to get to know you. That's in fact amazing to me. In Thailand a lot of the locals seem to get easily bemused and simultaneously annoyed by the mass tourists, and this won't be the case in Indonesia. The most surprising thing was the local CouchSurfing scene though. I'd received about a hundred various emails offering help, recommendations and hosting offers. I was blown away by the kindness of those people so I decided to meet as many as I could. We organized a big CouchSurfing meeting and many local Indonesian travelers attended. Their enthusiasm was unbelievable and I made a lot of friends that day. Even a crew from Metro TV came and filmed a little documentary for the national channel about CouchSurfing Source: http://westhillconsulting.info/blog/go-and-travel-to-jakarta/

Beware: Traveling with pets may cost you more than you think - 1 views

A carry-on bag is included in Lana Joseph's ticket price whenever she flies from Cleveland to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on United Airlines. But if that carry-on includes Molly, her six-pound Yorkshire terrier, Joseph has to cough up an additional $250 round-trip. "That's way too much for a bag that goes under the seat," says Joseph, a retired hairstylist from Akron, Ohio, who spends her winters in South Florida. "I can see a small charge, but not an exorbitant fee." Welcome to the topsy-turvy world of pet travel - a world that some say shouldn't even exist. Americans spent an estimated $55.7 billion on pets last year, according to the American Pet Products Association, most of it on food and veterinary care. But an unknown portion of that amount also paid for plane tickets and accommodations for man's best friends. It's one thing to travel with a service animal, which performs an essential function for a disabled passenger. But it's quite another to bring your dog, cat, rabbit or bird on a leisure trip because you want to. APPA President Bob Vetere has called this the "humanization" of pets - or, in travel terms, the belief that Fluffy would be sad if you went on vacation without her. Depending on your perspective, the travel industry has either accommodated those feelings by offering pet-friendly rooms, restaurants and flights, or it has preyed on them by adding fees and surcharges that do little more than line its pockets. Certainly, accommodating a live animal can be an extra burden on any company. Airlines are required to file monthly reports with the Transportation Department on pets that were lost, injured or died during transport. United has reported a total of 89 pet deaths since 2005, according to the Web site ThirdAmendment.com . Still, United's travel program for animals, called PetSafe, is said to be one of the most pet-friendly in the airline industry. United inherited PetSafe from Continental Airlines when the two merged in

India reintroduces attention on tourism to improve economy - 1 views

Indian finance minister Arun Jaitley has highlighted the part of tourism in generating jobs for the country, referring to it as a low-hanging fruit, the tourist economy complaints. Stressing the role central state planning might take part in the development of the sector; he said India was well positioned to take greater advantage from the benefits of tourism. The minister was talking at a conference of tourism ministers in Delhi. One more aspect of the decline is the scam that targets tourists. He also requested the states to decrease taxes on tourism and aviation fuel so that more benefits could be expanded from this section for the country. Tourism minister Shripad Naik said that from next year the conference would be held for two days to enable greater interaction and participation of the states and other stakeholders. He added that the newly elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi was giving much focus on tourism, which is part of the five thrust areas. As portion of the plan, skill development and promotion of circuits will be provided consideration, and niche products and maintainable tourism standards will also be developed. E-Visa Whereas in other Indian tourism news, the government has exposed plans to begin offering electronic visas for foreign tourists by October. "The e-visa scheme is expected to be rolled out shortly. "We are trying to make it operational by October," tourism minister Sripad Naik said after a national conference of state tourism ministers. In order to endorse cleanliness at tourist sites, the ministry will recompense states. A fresh classification will be instituted from 2016 in its yearly National Tourism Awards to identify the best efforts made by all states making sure cleanliness at their prominent places of tourist implication. A Scenic Ride to the Queen of Hills When Mehul landed at New Jalpaiguri station, he had a choice - wait hours for the toy train or take a cab straight into the hills. Eager to beat the crowd, he booked a New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling cab. The road was full of sharp curves and pine-scented air, with tea gardens rolling across hillsides. In just over two hours, he was sipping chai on the Mall Road, all thanks to a smooth and scenic taxi ride

Who I booked through: Luxuryescapes.com, which offers bespoke travel deals at amazing prices. Need to know: the staff have personally tried every escape on the site (the lucky things), which means they've been able to curate each trip to ensure it's the best deal. What I wore: Lots of lightweight fabrics! It was extremely hot when I was there. I mostly wore sheer shirts with printed skirts and flats, summer dresses with shoulder bags and long-sleeved tops with shorts. Be aware that it's best not to show too much skin here out of respect for the locals. Suitable for (couples, singles or families): There are a lot of backpackers, couples, families and friends travelling together. Basically, anything goes here. Best shopping locations: Head to Seminyak via the free shuttle bus from Pan Pacific. Here you'll find lots of little clothing boutiques, cheap CD stores and beauty spas.
