Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Hotel - 1 views

  •
Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Hotel I booked a vacation from Westhill Consulting Travel and Tours and I can say it was the best vacation ever. They booked me at Pullman Jakarta Indonesia Hotel and I couldn't be more happier with their choice. I couldn't believe my eyes when I first set foot in the hotel, the place was simply stunning. My expectations from a 5-star hotel were all met. I love my stay at the hotel and it made my whole vacation more enjoyable. It was so relaxing that after a long day of exploring the city I look forward on going back to the hotel and pamper myself. The first thing I tried was their sauna and the outdoor pool. Perfect after a long air trip. All the tiredness were all gone. Although I did not try their wellness centre and the fitness centre because I have no time to do so, I did try to visit and check it out. I was so impressed with all the facilities, all were modern and up-to-date. Too bad I didn't get to try an executive floor and a poolside snack bar. But of course I checked them out too, those wouldn't skip my eyes. Not to mention all the staff were very friendly and approachable. I am a self-confessed workaholic and I couldn't afford not to check on my business every once in a while even though I am on vacation. I am very thankful that Pullman Jakarta Indonesia provides Wi-Fi within the hotel, meaning I never had a problem staying connected during my whole stay. Beware: Traveling with pets may cost you more than you think - 1 views

  •
A carry-on bag is included in Lana Joseph's ticket price whenever she flies from Cleveland to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on United Airlines. But if that carry-on includes Molly, her six-pound Yorkshire terrier, Joseph has to cough up an additional $250 round-trip. "That's way too much for a bag that goes under the seat," says Joseph, a retired hairstylist from Akron, Ohio, who spends her winters in South Florida. "I can see a small charge, but not an exorbitant fee." Welcome to the topsy-turvy world of pet travel - a world that some say shouldn't even exist. Americans spent an estimated $55.7 billion on pets last year, according to the American Pet Products Association, most of it on food and veterinary care. But an unknown portion of that amount also paid for plane tickets and accommodations for man's best friends. It's one thing to travel with a service animal, which performs an essential function for a disabled passenger. But it's quite another to bring your dog, cat, rabbit or bird on a leisure trip because you want to. APPA President Bob Vetere has called this the "humanization" of pets - or, in travel terms, the belief that Fluffy would be sad if you went on vacation without her. Depending on your perspective, the travel industry has either accommodated those feelings by offering pet-friendly rooms, restaurants and flights, or it has preyed on them by adding fees and surcharges that do little more than line its pockets. Certainly, accommodating a live animal can be an extra burden on any company. Airlines are required to file monthly reports with the Transportation Department on pets that were lost, injured or died during transport. United has reported a total of 89 pet deaths since 2005, according to the Web site ThirdAmendment.com . Still, United's travel program for animals, called PetSafe, is said to be one of the most pet-friendly in the airline industry. United inherited PetSafe from Continental Airlines when the two merged in

27 Travel Tips to Help You Became a Master Traveler - 1 views

  •
Every industry has its own "best practices" -- proven rules and standards that guide the industry. Travel is no different. There are many rules to live by that help us navigate the unknown world with fewer costly mistakes and help quicken the pace in which we melt into the local culture. They make travel easier, better, and less stressful. I have my own rules. Below are my 27 golden rules for travel. If you follow them, you'll be a master traveler, able to travel the world with swashbuckling zeal and expert ninja-like knowledge... all without breaking the bank so you can keep cutting a path forward through the world for longer: Get a no-fee ATM card: Why give your money to the banks? Get an ATM card that doesn't charge any fees and use that extra money for more traveling. Over the long term those $2-5 charges really add up. I use Charles Schwab as my bank but you can also find many others that offer no-fee accounts -- or use a one that is part of the Global ATM alliance, and pay no fees within that network. There is never a reason to pay a bank fee. Getting Started with Diigolet - Diigo help - 0 views

  • Tags help you find and organize your bookmarks by letting you select all of your bookmarks with a certain tag or combination of tags. Quickly add relevant tags to a bookmark by clicking on any of the recommended tags that appear under the description field on the “Save Bookmark” pop-up. When you are satisfied with the information in the “Save Bookmark” pop-up, click the “Save Bookmark” button. Now a link to the page is stored in your Diigo library, and the information you entered is stored with it.
  • Highlight Highlighting lets you denote important information on a page, just like highlighting in a book, but with Diigo, the highlighted text will be conveniently saved to your library as well. There are some important things for me to denote on my recipe. My wife doesn’t like pineapple, my grandfather can’t have eggs or chocolate, and I don’t like coconut very much, so I highlight those items on the recipe to let me know I need to deal with them. Highlight by clicking “Highlight” on the Diigolet. Then select the text you want to highlight. The text will be visually highlighted and the text is now stored in your library. It’s that easy. Click the button again to exit highlighter mode. You can also change the color of a highlight by clicking the downward-pointing arrow next to “Highlight” and choosing a color. Colors are useful for differentiating different types of highlights. I will use a different color for each of the different people I need to consider.
  • To add a sticky note to a highlight, simply move your mouse cursor over a highlight. When the little pop-up tab with the pencil on it appears, move the cursor to it and a menu will appear. Choose “Add Sticky Notes”. Now you can type and post a sticky note just like before, but this time it will be tied to the highlighted text.

Top Tips for Travel for the Year Ahead - 1 views

Thomas Cook's decision to cease operating Irish charters, from April 30, demonstrates that traditional holidays are in flux. 'Dynamic packaging' is one of the travel buzzwords du jour, with licensed and bonded online companies, like budgetair.ie, clickandgo.com and lowcostholidays.ie, allowing consumers to package scheduled flights with accommodation into holidays that suit. One of my favourite newfamily travel websites is kidandcoe.com. It not only selects cool, family-friendly properties in destinations all over the world, but lists the specific criteria that parents want to check - such as whether there's a lift, dishwasher, changing table or high chair - as well as personal impressions and neighbourhood tips.
