Some Tips To Teach Kids to Stop Blaming Others and Take Responsibility for Their Behavior - 0 views

  •
    2. Pay Attention To How You React. Do not become enraged if your youngster makes a mess. Calmly respond. "Oh, you have made quite a mess. Come on, let us tidy it up." Encourage them to help with the cleanup, even if it takes longer and is not as effective as you would like. Learning to do it calmly among all the mess is quite a parenting challenge. 3. Teach Them To Find A Solution. Nobody likes to get themselves into problematic situations. It is understandable to be concerned about the implications of one's actions. "If I say I did not finish my homework, the teacher will scream at me." They may not be able to predict how others would behave in their interactions with them. They do, however, have power over what they do. Instill in them the understanding that we all make errors. What matters is what we do after we have made a blunder. They must understand that while they will not be able to undo their error, they may assist in its healing. Inquire about their options for resolving the issue. https://circleofhope.co.in/Blog/Modern-Parenting-Challenges---6-Ways-To-Teach-Kids-to-Stop-Blaming-Others-and-Take-Responsibility-for-Their-Behavior

Science of Identity Foundation - 0 views

Unlike religion, in which an individual may believe or not believe in something (regardless of its truth or untruth), yoga is a science; and as a science it is a quest to understand or know the truth as it is. The Science of Identity Foundation, by teaching the science of yoga , assists individuals who want to know the truth of their identity (i.e., their true essence and their relationship to the physical body, the mind, etc.) to realize the actual purpose of their life and learn where actual happiness is found.Read More.....

Bariatric wheelchairs (often referred to as extra wide wheelchairs or heavy duty wheelchairs) are strong enough to accommodate almost any user. Just like lighter manual chairs, bariatric wheelchairs are all foldable and feature armrests and swing-away footrests - but they differ quite a bit in their construction. While lightweight wheelchairs often employ materials like aluminum or titanium alloy, a bariatric wheelchair is usually fashioned from steel. Why babies need more tummy time than they're getting. - By Brian Mossop - Slate Magazine - 0 views

  •
In the early 1940s, Dr. Harold Abramson, a New York pediatrician, pored over heartrending reports of babies who accidentally suffocated while they slept. As he reviewed case after case, he noticed that a vast majority of the deaths occurred when babies slept on their stomachs. In a commentary in the Journal of Pediatrics, Abramson suggested that the many case reports of infant suffocation hinted that a newborn's sleeping position might contribute to so-called "crib death," later called SIDS. In the following decades, other researchers noticed that SIDS was less common in countries where infants typically slept on their backs. Fifty years after Abramson's study, the American Academy of Pediatrics formally launched a "Back to Sleep" campaign, instructing parents to put babies to sleep on their backs during their first year. The campaign has been hugely successful: Since it started in 1992, the SIDS rate in the United States has been cut in half.

Opinion: Trudy Rubin: U.S. ignores health care successes in Europe, Japan - San Jose Me... - 0 views

One of the most bewildering aspects of the current health care debate is the failure to learn key lessons from health systems abroad. Conservative talk show hosts decry the alleged evils of "socialized medicine" in countries with universal health coverage; they warn grimly of rationed health care. Yet there's nary a peep from Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck - let alone Congress - about countries such as Germany, France, Switzerland or Japan, where coverage is universal, affordable, and top quality, and patients see private doctors with little or no waiting. And, oh yes, their health costs are a fraction of our bloated numbers: The French spend 10 percent of GDP on health care, the Germans 11 percent, and they cover every citizen. We spend a whopping 17 percent and leave tens of millions of Americans uninsured. If you want a very readable short course on how European systems really work, take a look at "The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care," by T.R. Reid, a former Washington Post foreign correspondent. You might also watch a fascinating 2008 Frontline series, available online, in which Reid was an adviser: "Sick Around the World: Can the U.S. Learn Anything From the Rest of the World About How to Run a Health Care System?"
  •
Article continued (Diigo would not highlight!?) - So far, the answer seems to be "no," not because there aren't valuable lessons, but because politicians won't relinquish their myths about European health Advertisement systems. Reid takes up that task. Myth No. 1, he says, is that foreign systems with universal coverage are all "socialized medicine." In countries such as France, Germany, Switzerland, and Japan, the coverage is universal while doctors and insurers are private. Individuals get their insurance through their workplace, sharing the premium with their employer as we do - and the government picks up the premium if they lose their job. Myth No. 2 - long waits and rationed care - is another whopper. "In many developed countries," Reid writes, "people have quicker access to care and more choice than Americans do." In France, Germany, and Japan, you can pick any provider or hospital in the country. Care is speedy and high quality, and no one is turned down. Myth No. 3 really grabs my attention: the delusion that countries with universal care "are wasteful systems run by bloated bureaucracies." In fact, the opposite is true. America's for-profit health insurance companies have the highest administrative costs of any developed country. Twenty percent or more of every premium dollar goes to nonmedical costs: paperwork, marketing, profits, etc. In developed countries with universal coverage, such as France and Germany, the administrative costs average about 5 percent. That's because every developed country but ours has decided health insurance should be a nonprofit operation. These countries also hold down costs by making coverage mandatory and by using a unified set of rules and payment schedules for all hospitals and doctors. This does not mean a single-payer system or a government-run health system. But it does sharply cut health costs by eliminating the mishmash of records and charges used by our myriad insurance firms, who use all kinds of gimmi

Wheelchair : Handicap Products: Heavy Duty Wheelchairs For Larger Person - 0 views

Heavy duty wheelchairs (often referred to as extra wide wheelchairs or bariatric wheelchairs) are sturdy enough to accommodate almost any user. Just their lighter cousins, manual chairs, our heavy duty models all fold and feature arm rests and swing-away footrests - but they differ quite a bit in their construction. While lightweight wheelchairs often employ materials like aluminum or titanium alloy, a heavy duty wheelchair is usually fashioned from steel. At wheelchairindia, we have an excellent selection of heavy duty wheelchairs for sale. We also have an extensive wheelchair accessories section, where you'll find plenty of customization options to help ensure that your chair is a perfect fit. These wheelchairs are a little more expensive than standard-sized power wheelchairs. They are, however, very sturdy, and built to accommodate larger frames. Many of these chairs will safely seat people with weight limits of up to 450 pounds. Another consideration with heavy duty power chairs is that they are heavy. Many of these power wheelchairs weigh up to 350 pounds. If you plan to purchase one, you might also consider investing in a van with a power lift, so that transportation will be easier. Although they are weighty, folding these wheelchairs is possible. If they must be transported without a power lift, users can separate them into six parts. The fact that these are a bit more complex than the average folding power wheelchair, however, means that you will probably require assistance to disassemble and reassemble them before and after transport. Purchasers may select from a variety of several different colors and cushions to customize their wheelchairs. Other customizable features include accessories, armrests, and footrests. Tire and seat design options can also be added to these power folding wheelchairs for an additional cost. Further, customers can opt to add batteries to their chair if they require a continuous source of electricity. Ventilat

Wheelchair : Handicap Products: Wheelchair Safety With Power Wheelchairs - 0 views

Folding Lightweight Wheelchairs For indoor wheelchair safety the folding power wheelchair models that are lightweight have front casters which turn easily, making them ideal for use in small apartments. Having the casters in front makes this a dangerous chair to use outdoors as the front wheels can turn sharply if encountering a crack in the sidewalk, incline, or rocks.Wheelchair india is manufacturer, supplier, distributor and dealer of Karma KP 10-2 Power Wheelchair for disabled and handicapped in india. They usually have one or two removable batteries and have a similar appearance as the manual wheelchair. They can be controlled with a joystick or a sip and puff method. Lightweight Power Assisted Wheelchairs These chairs can be propelled in a similar manner as the manual wheelchair or use a battery. You may want this type if you want to keep fit and get some exercise but need some power when going up an incline or when traveling a distance. They are smaller and lighter weight than the folding wheelchair and have smaller batteries and motors. Dual Purpose Power Wheelchairs These chairs generally are good for either indoor or outdoor use. You need to have larger wheels in front for outdoors as this is a safety feature. It is better to have six wheels for stability when traveling outdoors. These indoor/outdoor power chairs compromise wheelchair safety and perform poorly when you do not have enough room to turn indoors and you need to travel over rough ground and uneven surfaces. Their optimum performance indoors is when you have wider doors and hallways in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or homes/apartments. Ideal outdoor surfaces in urban and suburban areas would include sidewalks and paved areas. Outdoor Power Wheelchairs These chairs weigh as much as 400-500 pounds, add the weight of the user up to 250 pounds and the total weight is approximately 650 pounds. They are very efficient outdoors with their rear wheels they can sa

Wheelchair : Handicap Products: Benefit Of Reclining Wheelchair - 0 views

  •
For people who spend the majority of their days sitting in standard wheelchairs or lying in beds, pressure sores are a very probable reality. Yet they don't have to be, thanks to assistive technology like tilt or recline wheelchairs that help distribute pressure to other parts of the body. While pressure relief is the main objective to using either a tilt wheelchair or a recline wheelchair, each has its unique qualities that help with posture. (Even though some chairs come with both tilt and recline options, for clarity purposes, they will be addressed as two separate seating systems.) "Obviously, a tilt wheelchair does a better job of providing postural stability by not changing any of the angles of the knee and hip, while recliners allow the pelvis and hips to move through approximately 90 degrees of motion. Both seating systems have their own specific functions," noted David Kreutz, PT, seating specialist at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. Reclining wheelchairs move the body from a flexed position to an extended position, making the chairs more likely to elicit a spastic response in the user. Because tilt and recline chairs use gravity to their advantage and come with head rests, patients who have poor head, neck and trunk control may benefit from the stability and balance they provide. When in tilt or recline, gravity helps the patient improve balance and head control. Once a tilt chair is prescribed for a patient, it is important to teach the caregivers how to use the tilt function and position the patient correctly. If a patient is cognitively intact, it is also important to teach that individual how he or she should be positioned in the chair, to be able to instruct caregivers. Candidates who would be suited for a recliner chair are those who cannot achieve a 90-degree hip-to-back angle when sitting. For example, patients who have hip precautions following total hip replacement surgery, patients who have had cardiac surgery and might develop
