Unobtrusive - 0 views

Here I have created unobtrusive Javascript thanks to the tutorials on JQuery. I took three pictures of my dogs and added comments to them that you can hide or show. There were four seperate files created for this clean unobtrusive script including, one for JQuery (leo21.nfshost.com/JQhtml.js) one for css, one for the downloaded JQuery and one html file.

Auto-populating Select Boxes using jQuery & AJAX - 0 views

  •
In my search for how to use jQuery and AJAX to build a select drop down menu, I found this four part demo - HTML, PHP, jQuery and JSON (JavaScript Object Notation). It also includes an example of how to create multiple select boxes with data populated from a MySQL database.

Webdesignerwall.com - Visual Tutorials - 0 views

This Webdesignerwall.com page shows 10 examples of what can be accomplished by using jQuery. I like these examples because these are features that I thought could only be achieved by using Flash. This page just has the samples. If you want to use these effects for your own site, view the tutorials at-- http://www.webdesignerwall.com/tutorials/jquery-tutorials-for-designers/

JQuery Effects - 0 views

  •
I have used two jquery effects on this page. The hide effect and the animate effect.

Best to get in the habit of keeping script & css in other files. Otherwise nice work.

    Nice job Rafael!

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. Unobtrusive Jquery for webprog-5-e. Nav bar is dimmed at 40 percent, and goes to 100 percent on hover. After hover, it returns to 40 percent. The whole div takes the effect. BTW, this is how I called my div in Jquery: $("#mydiv"). Took me almost 3 hours to find that out. :)

Use jQuery To Submit Form To PHP/MySQL | Ryan Coughlin | Web and Graphic Designer - Des... - 0 views

  •
This is a nice, simple tutorial on how to submit forms using php and jquery. It's done by a 20-year-old who admits he was lost the first time he tried to write these codes. That made me feel better!

updating this page on my photo site from module 2, I have changed the layout a bit. I have also added buttons to show and hide the description of the pictures. I really like this show/hide feature. I feel it will come into good use when i have alot of text, that i dont want overwhelming a user unless they want to read it all. the jquery home page and tutorials are very very helpful with great, at least i think so, examples/demos/references to using javascript and jquery

Cookie Recipe with Hide/Show Jquery - 0 views

  •
In this assignment, I used jquery to hide elements on the page. When you click on the header "Mama Z's Sugar Cookies" everything slides up and all you are left with is the See Comments button which you can click on to see well, the comments.

This is my attempt at creating unobtrusive Javascript using jQuery. You don't have to complete the form, you can just click the hyperlink.

I was able to figure out how to use a jquery fadeout. I found that beginners video to be very helpful! I also made it a 'slow' fade.

Voila! Erica and I did a variation of fill-in-the-blank wedding stories, complete with wedding cake themed CSS. Fill out the form once, choose the button for the story you want - hitting the back button will allow you to simply choose another story from the index page. Enjoy, and happy summer.

This is mine and Jen's final. We created a wedding story fill-in, using JQuery and Php in order to input your values into our stories. Enjoy!

Connecticut News Sources - 0 views

  •
I created a Connecticut news source page with a form. First pick the medium, then choose the news organization. Like many of my classmates, code came from http://www.webmonkey.com/tutorial/Build_an_Ajax_Dropdown_Menu. Seeing if I can adjust to add jquery.

Toggle Visibility - 0 views

I revisited my comment/recipe page and toggled visibility for said comment form. To make it available on non-Javascript enabled broswers, I found a form that sends a user to different links depending on whether or not Javascript is enabled. Thus this is the 'filter' page, if you will. If you're interested in the links to these simple codes, I hid the links in the course code. Ta da.

Credit because it works. But... This is a great reason to use jQuery. It's unobtrusive, so to anyone visiting the site normally, the form will show up. Only for those with javascript would it be (at first) hidden.
