Google Maps API - Google Code - 0 views

  •
This is Google's page that explains their Google Maps API. "The Google Maps API lets you embed Google Maps in your own web pages with JavaScript. The API provides a number of utilities for manipulating maps (just like on the http://maps.google.com web page) and adding content to the map through a variety of services, allowing you to create robust maps applications on your website." This is mentioned in Mod 6 and you can learn more about it by going to this site.

Ajax presents...sports! - 0 views

This is module 6-e. It was a little tricky to do, but what I found interesting was how there were a few ways to do it. You could connect to a database or you could do it through making individual files. This module is for Northeast sports. Enjoy!

This website I found helpful for this module. I like the beginner sites that explain the simple stuff from the start. I would recommend this site to not only beginners but to web developers as well, it is always a good idea to review the basics.

This site has lots of useful information re: javascript, event handlers, functions, etc. I found it particularly useful in doing the hw for Mod 5. It had so many script options I didn't even know where to start. Worth spending some time here!

This website has a ton of tutorials and codes. It also has explainations and is a great way to search for ideas and get a sense of what kind of code you will be producing. I would recommend this site to anyone in this class, I wish I would have found it earlier in the semester.

In my searches I had stumbled across and bookmarked this page - even though the module is over, I thought people still might benefit from it. There are tutorials for all the languages we've covered as well.

Here is my page for challenge 6-e "Ajaxed up". Instead of using a sports theme I decided to do it on some of my favorite actresses. Hope you enjoy! The code used was found on http://adamv.com/dev/javascript/http_request and http://www.webmonkey.com/tutorial/Build_an_Ajax_Dropdown_Menu

This page points out the importance of sketching out a wbsite for design and programming purposes. In doing this it saves the programmer time and frustration in comparison with programming on the fly.

Hot Cities - Pro Sports Teams - 0 views

Here is my ajax project for challenge 6-e. The goal is to teach a person in a new city the names of their home teams. My saving grace was this tutorial-- http://www.webmonkey.com/tutorial/Build_an_Ajax_Dropdown_Menu
  •
Very nice, but the name of the team is Red SOX, not Red Sux! :)

    Hahaha. Nice touch, Monica!

Here we have two dropdown menus (you won't see the second until you make a selection in the first), the second of which is dependent on the selection within the first. Right now, that is all that happens. I wanted to get a little fancier, and may still if I have time, but wanted to get it in as is for right now in case I don't get to snazz it up. Enjoy!
