Power up WordGirl and Huggy Face as they solve crimes with the perfect word to save the day. I liked this game although the voice that gives directions throughout the game is not a very pleasant one. It has interesting words and every time there is new context to practice them.

For this activity you will need a deck of cards, and an imaginative theme that could be crafted into some sort of story. The activity can be easily modified: Students can be asked to invent and write the story or talk about it.

This game can be played as a good warm up activity. Students practice vocabulary in an engaging and fun atmosphere.

Ask the first student a question (usually very easy) and if they get it right then move on to the second student in the group and ask if they would like to continue or 'bank' the $500, the questions I use slowly get harder but in general they are relatively easy (it's more fun that way, plus they're 50/50 so they always have a chance).
