Best Children's Books of 2012  (teen list will be announced soon)

This blog, started by two New York moms, reviews many children's books.  They are searchable by title, author, reading level, and more. Their rating system is a bit different than many other (such as levels of humor) and has a broad list of categories/themes

Elementary principal's blog.  This particular entry details her challenge to read 180 children's book in a year.

Digital books in many different languages; some of them can even be downloaded to iPads, etc.

Very comprehensive site that has many useful features, including daily podcast booktalks.  I often suggest the site to teachers looking for books of a particular genre, theme, etc.  Some of her pages that link to this are now wikis.

Another entry from Richard Byrne's great blog.  This post includes some sites with talking picture books.

Readings with free activities that are lexile-leveled. It is designed for grades K-6, but there are many readings with lexiles scores of 800-1020. Also, it provides lesson plans aligned with various children's books.  You can create a free account. Rec by Karen Ault
