Chicago's Largest Grass Volleyball Tournament Thank you to over 2,000 people who participated in the 2011 Luau Grass Volleyball Tournament at Northerly Island this year!! The Luau tournament is in its 17th year and is held on the beautiful ninety acre Northerly Island, located on Lake Michigan in the heart of downtown Chicago. Soak up both the sun and Northerly Island's spectacular 360 degree views of the Chicago skyline while you play! The Luau is Chicago's largest grass volleyball event for all levels of play and boasts over 2,500 participants. Tournament play begins in the morning with the Miller 64 beer truck parked right up on the grass to get the party started! Entry fee for the event includes tournament play, food, beer & a DJ music all day. Spectators are encouraged and welcome to come; a $30 fee includes all-you-can-eat and drink during the day. Hop on the Volley Trolley Saturday evening to cruise around downtown and continue the partying! You must be 19 yrs to play in the tournament and 21 yrs to drink consume alcohol.
