Volunteers in this program teach English to local children in either private, government, or mission schools. Although English is the official language of Ghana, the children rarely get to learn from non-Ghanaian speakers of the language. Volunteers do NOT have to be native speakers of English.

It's hard to imagine a volunteer experience more fulfilling than working at an orphanage in Ghana. The basics are usually taken care of for the children,like their meals and a place to stay. But, with limited local staff available,there is only so much love and caring available for the children. That's why the children so eagerly await the arrival of volunteers, who can give the kids more attention and love.

In Tamale we work with a local organization that provides a number of services to the local community. Our volunteers have the unique opportunity to become involved in a number of activities on a daily basis, including education,healthcare, construction, and vocational training.

We have a variety of Medical placements available in Ghana. You can work in a hospital, clinic or teaching hospital, in any one of a number of departments. If you plan on specializing, we can arrange to place you in a relevant department, to give you maximum experience in your chosen field. If your interest is nursing, we have a number of institutions who would appreciate your help.

Our program in Ghana provides volunteers with the opportunity to help Ghanaians prevent the transmission of HIV and to provide support to those affected and their families.

Work with veterinarians in private practice or in a clinic, or venture out with vets who minister to and specialise in farm animals. You will have opportunities to work hands-on and observe the reality of day-to-day care of animals. It may even be possible to arrange for you to have the opportunity to work with specialists who tend to wild animals in sanctuaries and game parks.

Ghana?s interest in football is at an all-time high, especially with Ghana?s outstanding World Cup performance in 2006 which included a win against the US.

Although football in the number one sport in Ghana, basketball is quickly growing in popularity.

Through our journalism internships in Ghana, you will have the unique opportunity to learn and practice journalism in several mediums including newspaper, TV, and radio. These internships are designed for journalism students and professionals to gain firsthand experience in journalism in Ghana.
