Share & uses only Flickr images. Book may have as many pages as you want.
PLUS: embedded search feature only searches Creative Commons
MINUS: Cover page, the title is a fixed location. Inside pages are static in terms of layout - image on top; text (not sure the limit on # of characters) along the bottom. From what I can see, the search only results in a limited number of images from Flickr. Also, I do not see a citation section, so am not able to properly cite the images used.
You can send your completed 'book' as an email attachment or embed it into a blog/webpage.

Abstract
The use of online discussion boards has grown extensively in the past 5 years,
yet some researchers argue that our understanding of how to use this tool in
an effective and meaningful way is minimal at best. Part of the problem in
acquiring more cohesive and useful information rests in the absence of a
comprehensive, theory-driven metric to assess quality and effectiveness. Based
on an extensive review of the research, the following variables were used to
assess traditional discussion board use: thread, location of message within
thread, author (student vs. educator), subject line clarity, time of posting,
response time from previous message, number of times message was read,
number of words, primary purpose, message quality, difficulty level of topic,
knowledge level, processing level and use of external resources. These variables
proved to be effective in assessing 12 key areas of discussion board use. It is
argued that this kind of metric is essential if we wish to advance our
understanding of online discussion boards for both educators and researchers.
Overview
The use of online discussion boards has grown extensively in the past 5 years (Cooper,
2001). While this tool is viewed as revolutionary by some researchers (Hara, Bonk &
Angeli, 1998; Li, 2003), others argue that our understanding of how to use online
discussion in an effective and meaningful way is limited (Blignaut &

PicFindr searches the web* for stock photography that is completely free to use commercially. Several licensing arrangements have recently emerged as alternatives to copyright (sometimes called "copyleft") and PicFindr makes sense of them all by helping you find images based on what you have to do to use them, whether licensed under Creative Commons, GNU, a site-specific agreement, or something else. PicFindr can even find free images you can use commercially without requiring permission or credit of any kind!

This is a wee test search for creative commons flick photos, click on the thumbnail to see a small image and get the code to embed the photo with attribution on your blog. When you see the code you can toggle left/ right alignment and small/medium size. If you are allowed to you can edit a large size in picnik, you will need to handle the attribution for this yourself.

If your district has an account, this website allows you to search for 'editable' media. This means that you can use images (or even a frame from a video) and edit the image to suit your needs. Simply click on 'Advanced Search' under the 'Search' box, select 'Images' from the drop-down menu next to 'Media Type', and make certain that you have a check in front of 'Include only Editable Titles'.
