Camera Movement - YouTube - 0 views

A great tutorial from Video Maker that shows all the basic types of camera movement AND some possible reasons for using these types of camera movement. You may notice that you don't have some of the camera equipment to make these types of movement possible. While you might not be able to make the movements smoothly such as in the case of a dolly or a trucking shot, you can always find a DIY way to make it happen. For example, dolly shots can be done by walking. They're not smooth this way, but you can still teach the concept. Be creative, use office chairs, radio flyer wagons, the little rollie carts from PE (you know what I'm talking about?). There's always a way to make it work.

Composition and Framing Tutorial - Lights Film School - 0 views

This is a great tutorial that shows students the difference between close, medium, wide shots and more. Most amateur videographers and photographers are afraid to get close to their subject for various reasons. Some of the best video is shot close. Many times, a variety of camera distances will engage the viewer much more so than if the camera is the same distance away every single time.
