This site has a lot of great textures for you to use from animals to x-rays there's something for everyone in this site.

There're lots of cool sprites here. You have fruit and vegetable sprites, treasure sprites (genies?), animal sprites, and more! The page also has links to other pages on this website - the other pages have lots of enemy sprites that you can use, too.

Hi again! I found a different skin editor. Personally, I don' t like NovaSkin because it has alot of "clutter" and somewhat distracts me. If you want to use a professional skin editor, don't use this one, but this editor is still a good start for anyone who wants a new skin :) Also check out the pre-made skins. They may be of interest to you.

This is a great website to create animated sprites and pixel art.

I believe that this site is a good site for sprite editing because you can zoom in and add a LOT of detail to a sprite. You get a whole lot of colors to choose from, to create your character. The website has a pretty basic layout and their are the tabs on the left.

For those interested in programming and game development, this channel has videos on creating a game from scratch using Java. There are many similarities with GML; even if you are not interested in programming with Java, you can learn a lot of things useful in GM too.
