More Virginians are home-schooling their children

RICHMOND, Va. - A Senate bill that would have banned smoking in cars carrying children under age 15 was tabled Friday by a House committee.

A divided House of Delegates this week passed a bill formally declaring that parents have "a fundamental right to make decisions concerning the care, custody, and control" of their children.

A bill to forbid smoking in cars carrying children is dead in the House, but a similar proposal remains alive in the Senate.
