This is just one example of improving medical technology. The article states that over 50 million Americans experience migraine headaches, and this simple, non-invasive technology has significantly reduced symtoms for a large number of test subjects.

NASA's Voyager 1 Not Yet Out of the Solar System - 0 views

  •
Space exploration has long fascinated me, and has led to massive changes in society. Much of our rapid technological development can be attributed to space programs. I think that our human need to expand and explore will take us to space in more permanent installations.

Live-blogging the news - 0 views

  •
Threads like this one, from reddit.com, show us one possible future of news brioadcasting: instant, prone to some error, but rapidly self correcting, interactive and full of links and multimedia. It is a scary proposition to think that our news may devolve to this kind of reporting.

3D printing is looking like another disruptive technology that can significantly change our society. It will allow hobbyists and other people of fairly modest means to have access to a wide range of manufacturing capabilities. It will also probably make copyrights harder to enforce.

  •
The Boston Marathon bombings were horrifying for many reasons, and one is how easy it is for someone to construct a deadly bomb using simple and easily obtainable materials, with instructions posted on the internet. This is one of the hazards of technology - misuse and abuse.

Scientists more certain that particle is Higgs boson - 0 views

  •
The apparent discovery of the Higgs boson is a big step towards understanding our universe. I have a lot of friends who are not interested in such research for research's sake, but I am amazed by how much of our current technology is derived from this research. I am looking forward to new innovations in science and medicine based on this discovery.

Can Tesla's Musk Vanquish Electric Car Stigma? - 0 views

  •
This story of the "failed" test drive and subsequent data releases and public bickering was fascinating. It showed how disruptive technology can be difficult for some people and confusing or irritating or even threatening. I tend to side with Tesla on this issue, but there are plenty of issues to go around.

Google Glass - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - 0 views

  •
Google Glass is a wearable computer with a head-mounted display (HMD). I am very interested in owning a pair of these, though I can't afford the price tag right now. It is intriguing to me to be able to overlay reality with interesting information. We are really living in the future
