Teaching Blind Students with 3-D Prints - 0 views

    This article features the attempts of two L.A.-based educators to create tactile educational tools for visually-impaired students. While still in the experimental phase, the goal is to create a 3-D prints for students to better utilize tactile maps for their schools and surrounding neighborhoods. In addition, this technology can be used to teach more abstract concepts of math, physics, and other subjects to the visually-impaired.

Changing Our Brains in a Good Way - 2 views

    A recent New York Times article presented interesting work by Gregory Bratman, a Stanford University graduate student. Bratman and his colleagues gathered two groups of students and after scanning their brains and giving them a questionnaire had half walk for 90 minutes in a park while the other half walked next to a loud highway. It points to benefits of getting away from technology for mental health.
