Look at this augmentative prosthesis from MIT! The wearer seems to have typical function of her fingers, but I imagine this being used for people with limitations like those of CP, where fine motor skills are impacted more than gross motor - these muscle and motion/computer/robot interfaces could provide greater dexterity than the persons own fingers.
