bcwheeler on 03 May 17Scientists mice with different HIV viruses and then edited the viruses out of their genes using gene editing technology called CRISPR/Cas9. They then used a live bioluminescence imaging system created by one of the researchers (Won-Bin Young, PhD.) to see that they had completely removed the HIV viruses from the genes. They now want to test primates, and then do clinical trials on people.
