Create acct. in Edmodo to see this OER lesson: This presentation is a basic introduction to visual notetaking or sketchnoting for students. During the presentation, students will watch an overview video, look at examples, and discuss the elements of sketchnoting. Apple Teacher Learning Center - 0 views

Apple's Everyone Can Create series a phenomenal resource that I have utilized in the past. If your school is 1:1 with iPads, you have to check these out! The only thing you need is your Apple ID. The books lead you through a series of lessons/activities where you create a creative project and also learn tips and tricks (or a basic how-to) of the different Apple Create Apps. I have also utilized this with students grades 4-5. They were able to follow the directions and complete the activities independently. This is one of my favorite Apple resources!

Museum 2.0: Memo from the Revolution: Six Things I've Learned from our Institutional Tr... - 0 views

  •
Think about this in terms of libraries: "Art and history are something you do, not just something you learn about. By inviting people to actively participate with us in co-creating programming, we empower them as creative agents, cultural producers, and people for whom the museum is a relevant, compelling partner. Being a strong community hub requires bringing people together across difference, encouraging bridging experiences instead of targeting a specific audience. When we work with diverse collaborators, from opera singers and ukelele players to knitters and graffiti artists, we catalyze new partnerships and relationships that make our community stronger and more cohesive. We believe in fearless experimentation. It is only by trying things out, challenging our assumptions, and analyzing the results that we can adapt and thrive in a changing world."

It's a number that tends to jumps out at you: one in every five students has dyslexia. That means there's bound to be at least one student with some sort of reading difficulty in pretty much every classroom. But teachers may not know how to help these students.

Using Pokemon Go in the classroom - 1 views

APA style guide for "Pokemon Go" information. I doubt if there are many Pokestops or Pokemon in or around your school. And I'm not suggesting playing the game in your classroom. However, after playing it myself for the past few days, I've had some thoughts on how to use the game to expand the learning and target some of the literacies we want students to attain.

What is this need? Asking questions enables learners to focus their interests into a single, addressable task. Questions also provide a means to check progress. The four of us, a team, stood together at the bus stop, waving to a beaming four-year old boy as he ran to catch his school bus. We all clapped and cheered as he continued to wave from the window. As we watched the bus drive down the road, every one of us wiped away tears.
