The U.S. Department of Education established the Privacy Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) as a "one-stop" resource for education stakeholders to learn about data privacy, confidentiality, and security practices related to student-level longitudinal data systems and other uses of student data.

This FREE, pioneering curriculum is designed to empower students to think critically and make informed choices about how they create, communicate online. I would use this curriculum from Common Sense Media with my elementary students during the library classes.

Computer Science Holidays Christmas Hannukah / Holiday Poem Generator / 4th 5th 6th 7th / This is a simple and fun computer activity for the Holidays. Students answer questions about a Holiday and the computer generates a poem. Students then embellish the poem's fonts and add clip art.

I would create a lesson to 1. review copyright 2. show students how to find and properly cite resources for their class projects. CC is just one of many sites students can use to find resources for their work.

Journalist Maggie Farley has created a game called Factitious -- modeled after the dating application Tinder -- to help people distinguish between fake news and real journalism. Farley designed the game for middle- and high-school students, but she says it can be useful for all ages.
