Examining Story Elements Using Story Map Comic Strips - ReadWriteThink - 3 views

  •
I think this would be a fun alternative to the traditional book report. Students are introduced to the five story elements in Session One. In Session Two students use Comic Creator Student Interactive to create a six-frame comic strip to map story elements from a story they have read.

I used this with the 4th grade class last year and they LOVED it!

Amelia Bedelia Up Close! Closely Reading a Classic Story - ReadWriteThink - 0 views

This is a great lesson to use with elementary students to analyze text and meet Common Core standards. I liked that this lesson also uses Amelia Bedelia because you can then also discuss language and meaning and how her chores are always funny since she is literally doing what she hears.

Cube Creator - 1 views

You are able to create a cube to go with many projects and topics. Already created ones include: Bio, Mystery, Story cubes where you can have the question and users type in the answer. Print and fold to create a cube. The last and most useful is the create-your-own cube where everything goes. Great for a get to know you activity or even a self created game.

I think this is a great resource to offer my teachers so they can offer it to their students. This is a fun and easy way for pre-k and kindergarten students to learn about matching sounds to letters. Teachers will be able to use this activity at one of their learning centers. The interface is very user friendly. The graphics are colorful and engaging to young students.
