Comparing Blogging Tools for Teachers and Students - 0 views

  •
Practicaledtech is a great source for teachers to stay up to date on great online resources. Richard Byrne is an awesome tech integrator and his site used to be called free tech for teachers. I would assign teachers to use this guide to pick one blogging tool to try out with their classes. Before they got to work with their classes I would pair of teachers who chose the same blogging tool and have them work together on the platform.

Copyright Basics - YouTube - 1 views

  •
This is a very interesting video on copyright. The voices and background music are very catchy. I would have students watch this video and then as a class create a googledoc of a simplified version of what they learned. A "For Dummies" version and the we could post this to our Moodle or learning platform to remind us how copyright works and what we can and cannot do.

TOOLS FOR LEARNING: Libraries Get Social-Social Media, That Is! - 1 views

  •
There's a quiet-or not so quiet-shift happening in school libraries across America. The social media revolution-reflected in all manner of shiny iPhone apps, blogs, Nings, Facebook pages, and other social networking tools, sites, and platforms-is real, and it's running like a loud line of students straight through the stacks, into the common areas, taking a sharp turn, and heading right on up to the teacher librarian/media specialist's desk.

Zaption provides free interactive video tools and ready-to-use video lessons to engage learners. Our video platform is perfect for K-12, higher ed & training. This is a great tool to use for students who are visual learners and those who need to watch videos more than once. It also works great for those who need to stop and take notes while listening. AB
