Wisconsin Biographies - Idea Mapper | WISELearn Resources - 3 views

  •
I currently teach fourth grade, which we know is all about Wisconsin! This is something that I would use with my fourth graders because it is an interactive digital graphic organizer. I don't think that it just has to be used for Wisconsin biographies because there are many different chart to choose from.

I'm excited to read more. Our ELA teachers work so hard at this in middle school. These are big tasks to teach in addition to everything else they need to teach! At the same time, it is exactly what middle school students need before they reach the high school where they must apply research skills.

One of my favorite book resources for teachers! It is listed on Badgerlink and definitely worth highlighting during a staff PLD. Two of my favorite features are the meet-the-author recordings and book excerpts. Many of the book have links to activities or lessons, and some books have links to book trailers. Plus, you can print QR codes or directly link to the books in its database!

This is a very easy to use, ready-made curriculum for teaching coding. There are lots of different lessons using familiar characters, like Star Wars, Minecraft, Frozen, Angry Birds, etc.

Seesaw Activity Center - 0 views

This one is harder to share, because you have to have a (free) account to access the activity library, but if you are part of the Seesaw community you will be able to use and share hundreds of premade lessons with your students using the Seesaw app!

Wisconsin's own OER educator portal includes open education resources that will enable high-quality learning experiences and resources to schools

This would be great for PD - I don't know how many teachers are aware of this site created by the DPI for teachers (and librarians!) to share lesson plans, activities, and even library pans.

Read Across America's new direction is fantastic and an awesome resource for teachers! I have promoted this website to teachers when they are looking for read aloud suggestions. It includes teaching resources to go with featured books and links to other literacy resources as well.
