A vehicle for information evaluation that helps students determine information relevancy,appropriateness, detail, currency, authority, and bias. It contains a rubric for information evaluation that allows students to determine the usefulness and reliabilty of a resource.

This video collection is a tutorial on how to use Smart Board Technolgy. It begins with the basics and moves through the advanced features in later tutorials. Not all tuturials have been posted at this time as it is posted to periodically as it is just now being compiled. These tutorials will help teachers use SmartBoard Technology when it is available in their classrooms. Many district classrooms have this technology available at a price tag of nearly $20,000 each I think we should try to use it whenever it will enhance the learnign experience. We will not be trained to use this technology by the district so it isu to you to learn how to use it. These videos make this possible at no cost. There are also workshops periodically in your district put on by the distributors of the SmartBoards. These are few toall community members and the times and locations are posted on district websites.

There are ideas for science fair projects, science experiment ideas, answers to science questions, links to careers in science, and links for students, parents, and educators. This site is fun and informative.

This booklist compiles the best non-fiction books of 2010. Most of the books are appropriate for late elementary and above reading ability. Compiled by school librarians it is a great resource that can be used with public school students without needing to be revised or edited for appropriate content. A good useable booklist compiled by educators. Excellent.

This website is a great interactive and visual representation of the Human Development Index. Each country can be clicked on and information about that country's life expectancy, gross domestic product, and net primary enrollment rate will be displayed. Other information will also be given such as the country's population, and size. Another neat feature of the website is the ability to compare two countries in a head to head face off. The site will graph the information provided from both countries so easy comparisons can be made. Celestia is the most powerful and easy to use 3D space simulation programs - and it's free! There are so many possibilities for using this in the classroom. Celestia is like a Google Earth for outer space. You can travel around the planets, moons, asteroids, and entire galaxy as well as zooming in on celestial bodies and orbiting them.

Create your own interactive stories, music, games, and art. My teacher had 5th grade students create interactive stories based on their research papers on Explorers. It was a great way for them to incorporate the facts they had learned into a technology display.

Prezi is a tool that allows you to create movable presentations. You can sign up for an account with your edu email address and create accounts for your students. This particular site is a list of some educational prezis that you can view and use in your own classroom. Consider using prezi instead of powerpoint.
