    In 1975 the first microcomputer was developed and by 1981 the majority of secondary schools owned at least one. By the end of the 1980s 2.4 million computers were in 90% of America's public schools (Becker,1990). With this increase of technology in school systems there also came and increase in inequality concerning the distribution of the technology.
