In 1975 the first microcomputer was developed and by 1981 the majority of secondary schools owned at least one. By the end of the 1980s 2.4 million computers were in 90% of America's public schools (Becker,1990). With this increase of technology in school systems there also came and increase in inequality concerning the distribution of the technology.

There are new web 2.0 tools appearing every day. Although some of these tools were not originally meant for use in the classroom, they can be extremely effective learning tools for today's technology geared students and their venturesome teachers.

This is a site with links to many rubrics and resources. It may be helpful if you are still looking.

I love this site for keeping track of books I've read, books I want to read, and books I'm currently reading, for sharing book suggestions with friends or the online community. It can be used in a transformative way with students to share reading interests, review/comment, etc.

This is a nice example that I thought was helpful in creating my rubric. Hopefully you can use it, too.
