Glogster - 0 views

We've all heard of blogs, but this site has twisted blogs to make them a little more creative and fun and coined them glogs. They are basically kind of like an online bulletin board where you can upload videos, images, text, etc. It is a great alternative teaching method for teachers and can be a new way for kids to learn/post information, too.

This is a great example of a media project that student's could do on a variety of authors. They could put it together using power point and showing it to the class could be beneficial for all students when reading texts by that particular author.

Interdisciplinary Teaching - 0 views

  •
I found this article/website to be fairly interesting. It provides some suggestions for interdisciplinary teaching, or teaching across the curriculum. I think that it is important for students to have some type of association between all of the classes they are taking. This might be difficult to do, especially in high school, but it is certainly something to think about.

The The Impotence of Proofreading - 1 views

  •
Although this is sometimes a little inappropriate (as always with Taylor Mali) it hits on a very important topic that we will look at as English Teachers - Proofreading. Pretty much all of Taylor Mali's poems has relevancy and maybe you've seen this or others, but I definitely think it's worth checking out again!

Taylor Mali is funny and edgy as always but he targets a very important topic for English teachers: proofreading.
