Library of Congress Teachers Page, with links to using primary sources, etc. The LOC has created "Themed Resources" that include specific, common topics into easy to use sets. The combined resources include grouped primary source sets, lessson plans, exhibitions, etc. Love IT! Also provides user with pre-made LOC professional development sessions called "Teaching with Primary Sources."

This site is full of information that can be used to teach about the Constitution on Constitution Day, or any day when referring to the U.S. Constitution. There are lesson plans that can be used and other valuable ideas to help students learn about this important document.

I was first attracted to this site because of the interactive game regarding healthy food choices. But there is so much more here such as a menu planner, a food pyramid tracker, podcasts for making healthy changes in diet, coloring sheets, worksheets, and other printed materials. I think any health teacher would love this site.

This is a great site for upper elementary through high school. There are numerous learning experiences from exploring a town which has been cleaned up, to learning to help the city budget enough to follow through with their plans of cleaning up the environment. There are activity areas as well as teacher information sections. I will be sharing this with the middle school science teachers I know.

This is a site with a terrific game about the travels of Lewis and Clark. When moving through each state, one must play a game to continue traveling. Not only is it fun, but there is a wealth of information given along the way. I will share this with the 4th grade teachers in my school.

This site is filled with information about the environment. Although it appears to be geared for younger children there is a link for middle school and high school students, too. This site can be used by science and art teachers alike. There is something for everyone here.

This site is a service of the U.S. Government Printing Office has hundreds of U.S governmental documents sorted into the following categories: cornerstone documents, Congressional, presidential, judicial, regulatory, demographic, economic and miscellaneous. This site would be great for social studies students who are studying U.S. history, or those who are comparing our government to other countries.

This website has a list of the "cornerstone documents" from our government. Many of these documents like the Bill of Rights, Constitution, and declaration of independence are the documents our country's laws were founded on. Very easy for students to access the most important documents.

Another fun game to play to learn the states and where they are located. I would use this site in Social Studies to study the states and where they are located.

This site is a great place to learn the states and their location in the U.S. I will use this with the 5th graders I tutor and pass it on to their teachers as well.

This site seems to be a very good one. It has many images of various happenings in the history of the U.S. It has historical statistics of the United States. There are more research tools available through this site. It is related to Yale University.

Kids.gov is a gov doc that links to websites for a wide range of subjects from art to health to money to states including American Samoa and Puerto Rico. It has sections for K-5students, 6-8 students and educators.
