This is an AWESOME website for parents, teachers and students to use in order to remain safe online. I really like how many tips are provided for parents. The website breaks down tips for how much independence and use online children should be provided. While exploring the site, I thought that it was very helpful and user friendly. Overall, if I were a parent this website would be very helpful.

This website is centered around helping teachers integrate technology into their curriculum thoughtfully. It also lets teachers interact with each other to build a support network. The website is very organized, it is easy to navigate, has a tone of information, and the concept is explained very well.

On Guard Online - 0 views

At first, I didn't realize that this was a government website. Users can look just by topics and then look by topics. The main purpose of the website is not just child safety online, but rather overall safety (i.e. avoiding identity theft). When the user looks at the child privacy portion of the site, parents are able to find several helpful and an easy to read site. Overall, I think this would be a great site for the novice internet user.

This is another safety website that I found. I like the left hand column that allows the user to search by topic. I thought that many of the topics (i.e. Is your child at risk) would be very helpful to parents that may not know a lot about internet safety. Overall, the website is kind of busy and contains a lot of unnecessary information. If I were to recommend this site to parents, I would tell them to read the left column by topic.

This is a very safe website for students to look up information. It is very basic and very limited but the facts are accurate. It's a great place for Elementary to go to if they are doing a fact chart or basic report on an animal, country, or dinosaur. Its a neat website but little annoying because when ever you go back to home page you get the welcome announcement and I couldn't find anywhere to turn it off, accept for mute on my volume

Virtual Field Trips is a website that takes teachers and students on field trips via the internet. Categories are Career Technical, Fine Arts, Foreign Language, Health and PE, Language Arts, Math, Library media, Professional Development, Science, Social Studies, Technology and Other. As I searched around it looked like several of the field trips use our Sea Monkey as their web site composer of choice. Uen.org is the URL. At the bottom of the page we can click on "contact us" which takes us to a page where we can put in our contact information so they can get back to us. There is an 800 number to call. The website is based in Utah. Uen stands for Utah Education Network partnered with Utah State Office of Education and Higher Ed Utah, which is in Salt Lake City.

) Paulhami.edublogs.org is a blog site run by Paul Hamilton from the public schools in Vancouver, B.C. He is their assistive(?) technology consultant. He writes about free websites for educators. One that I got stuck on was watch know.org which had something for every discipline. Of course, there were lots of comments from fellow educators who can also add to his list of helpful websites. The latest revision looked like June 20, 2010.

This is a fun website that helps teachers prepare short videos rather than making slideshows.
  •
Animoto kicks your slide show up a notch. I think that combining animoto, prezi, and youtube can really make presentations much more interesting- by teachers and students!

I love this website! There are so many cool things you can do to present information to students. This is one of the best discoveries of this class!

The internetsafetygame http://www.att.com/gen/general?pid=1391 is from the AT and T website. It's a game with a villain and a hero. The player is the hero trying to catch the villain doing bad things online in 8 different ways. It's very child friendly.
  •
An internet safety website obviously intended for elementary age children to learn the basics about internet safety. You follow "Captain Broadband" around to 8 different sites answering questions about internet safety. When you answer all questions correctly, you can print off a certificate that must make elementary children feel good about themselves.

This site provides technological tools for students to modify pictures, play games and ideas on artistic expression. This is a great website to infuse technology into the classroom because it offers students a choice in what they would like to do.
